Why not just get Freesat, since you already have the dish? All you'll need is a new receiver.0 -

Very occasionally I can still get buffering but the problem is with the content provider and not my end.0

What exchange are you connected to and how far are you from the exchange ? I am assuming you are a fair distance from your exchange.
The exchanges are being changed over to the 21CN network which can mean faster speeds. It depends why you are only getting 2 Meg.
I am about 2 mile from my exchange and down a lane with overhead cables and trees rubbing against them! However I regularly get a sync rate of over 7Meg which gives me an actual 5.5Meg download rate. Plusnet have just told me that my exchange is being upgraded in the next month and I will be moved from the upto 8Mb package to the upto 20Mb package, for free !!
It remains to be seen what actual speeds I will get tho as it dependant on several factors. When I first got broadband I doubled my speed by sorting out dodgy wiring in the house and moving my router to the main BT socket ( rather than an extension ).
Dodgy cables or connections means noise on the line, which in turn means transmission errors and lower speeds.
Cregagh exchange, Belfast and I'm 2.9kms from it, as the crow flies!
Update:
Phoned BT Options team - answered by Belfast, not Glasgow, as previously, and was told that there were no deals on Infinity at present as it was still a 'new product'. He offered to renew my contract for a further 12 months on the same deal as I'm currently on. I asked for MAC code to facilitate the process if, after looking around, I decide to move. He was a bit reluctant to give me this, but wouldn't budge on Infinity price, so I persisted and I'll have it within 10 days apparently and it will be valid for 30 days.0 -

New customers only? I'm an existing customer, D.A.0 -
Ah, sorry, hadn't spotted that bit about it not being available to existing BT Broadband customers.
Couldn't you move to another provider on a monthly contract though and then come back to BT after a month? ;-)0 -
If BT infinity doesn't load pages any faster, i'll not be bothering with it.
........thanks to whoever made that point:beer:0 -

That exchange has been upgraded. I also have a connection there with Plusnet on my sisters behalf. They are upgrading her account in the next 5 weeks to "upto 20MB" for free.0
