BT Infinity

Options
Worth upgrading to? Currently paying £13 per mth for BT Broadband but they want £28 per mth for Infinity.

Anyone know of any deals going for existing BT customers?

suppose it depends on what you use the internet for and what speed you currently get. What are the answers to those two for starters?

Personally myself, we live 150m from the exchange and get 8Meg with Plus net for £17.99 a month. No option to go with LLU suppliers are there are none in the exchange at the moment. :( We are happy with the 8Meg, it does us for youtube/ remote desktop to work in the evenings and email etc...

Current speed averages about 2mb which, even for £13 per mth, is rubbish. Used for usual surfing, e-mailing, youtube etc and the occasional streaming.

It's your own decision to be honest. The speed boost will make a big difference to you, but only you can decide whether it's worth paying twice as much for it, added to the fact that you have to sign up with BT (*spit*) to get it. (yes, I know there are other options, but BT is cheapest)

I'm constantly being harrassed by BT to upgrade to infinity.....they've slowed my connection speed way down. not a happy chappy!...told her to stuff it.

Well yes, I know that! I was mainly asking if there might be any deals available for existing customers. Speed boost is determined by other factors too though -distance from BT cabinet, other lines connected to same cabinet, condition of cables between cabinet and home, processing speed of processor etc. I'm loathe to spend £28 per month (which is by no means 'cheap' btw) and the increase in speed be only marginally greater and not worth the added expenditure. My processor would be the least of my worries though - it's fine.

Yes, that's how my interest came about - they called me too, last week, and tried to claim my £13 per mth was discounted heavily because of the poor speed I was getting, so it wouldn't really be costing me £15 more. Ehhh, yes it would be!

I'm all in with BT....broadband, free UK phonecalls 24/7,plus 0800 +0845 numbers. averages around £120/quarter. think that's enough and i'll not be spending any more. They were offering me infinity for another £5/month, can't really see how it will benefit me as I only use email and surf the web.

Similar package to me then £13.90 line rental plus £13 broadband per month. I'd certainly consider it at an extra £5 per mth, but definitely not for an extra £15.

just right, if they phone you again tell them other people are getting it at £5/month extra.....You might have been called by an independent company who works with BT, and they'll get the extra £10/month. :)
