morning!
off to work later - got a thumping headache so have taken some paracetamol and hoping that shifts it - will take some migraine pills to work just in case.
Welcome to Pinkteapot!:)
Have had a tidy up and WM is on with a load of towels. Mild here today but doesn't look like drying weather so might put them on the airer.
HM fish and chips tonight for tea as its a busy evening with me late home and DS doing a shift at work and needin a lift.
forever saving - glad your migraine has gone x
Hester - good luck with your meat challenge:Dx
NPM - hope you today is not too stressful for you both x
have a great day all xDo what you love :happyhear0 -
Happy Samhain
I confess whilst I am not a big believer in religion I would consider myself more pagan in origin and I confess I find myself wanting to read more about this sort of stuff
Thankfully DD seems much better today, her and DS have been arguing which is always a good sign  She slept in our bed with H with me in her room and I think she slept through. I didn't sleep too badly but think Friday with H and this weekend is catching up on me as I feel exhausted. DS upset me last night as he keeps saying he doesn't like my dad (who heard him say it)My dad is a wee bit hurt and I am really upset to hear him say it. I think it's because he sees my dad the least and DS has been in a funny mood all week about some things. Just hope this is a phase as my dad idolises DS which just makes it all the harder to hear.
Anyway moving on, H still not going into work today. His poor butt has some quite interesting bruising coming out  So it will be a day at home again for the family. DS wants to make some halloween biscuits with the cutters we have so they can do those and then decorate them. For tea I will make HM pizza and wedges I think, I've also bought some Halloween paper cups and plates for my litle soiree which I've now cancelled along with some Halloween chocolates. We can still have a mini party with the 4 of us :rotfl:
I've got soup to make, got chicken stock going in the SC overnight for that. I must fit in some ironing as there is a mountain of it.
Sorry I have wittered on a bit there

Morning All!
I'm off for reading week, so I'm back to posting!
I've got all sorts of plans. For today, a good scrub in the bathroom, wash the shower curtain and dust. Maybe a quick wander in the CS on my way home from taking in a library book. On Thursday some of my friends are coming for a crafting evening while OH is at his volunteering. I'm making xmas pressies, and going to try out a couple of my edible gift recipes for their snacks. :j
Also, going to try to get a couple of more meals in the freezer. They've been a real life-saver. OH and I have only bought a quick meal once in the first four weeks of term and that was when we were house-sitting and didn't know what we were going 'home' to find in the fridge!:T0 -
Morning all,
it's freezing in the office today! Think the mild-ish weather outside has confused the heating as it wasn't too bad last week. Hope it warms up soon or I'll be going home to get my gloves at this rate.
Need to find some energy for the week from somewhere, feel like I could just hibernate.... wish that was an option!
Had quite an OS day yesterday - finished off one of a pair of gloves that will be a christmas present, and made some biscuits. Am trialling the biscuits as they will also be made as a present. Adapted the recipe to make chocolate ones but put far too much cocoa in and they came out a bit bitter - good job I've got plenty of time left till christmas to have another go. Got a really nice glass jar in @sda on sat so that's what the biscuits will be going in eventually (was only £1.40 - I love it!)
Have some lunch with me again today (chicken & stuffing sandwiches made with yesterday's leftovers). Dinner will be something out of the freezer, it's quite well stocked at the moment so should be able to find something easily enough.
Have a good day all... am off to find something to warm my hands on!0 -
Thanks for the lovely welcome - why haven't I found this thread before?!
Hello to all.
Looks like we'll be having the chicken tomorrow night instead now as we need to pop out this evening. It'll be too late to cook it when we get back. So, I have another 24 hours to research chicken cooking. There's a chance I'm over-thinking this.
Waiting on a delivery of photo prints. Hubby is a bird photographer (avian, not female!) and I've ordered prints of one of his shots to stick on the Christmas cards I'm making. It'll be a surprise for him. Earlier this year I set up a website for his photos and we have a couple of framed prints around the house. I think he'll be quietly chuffed with our Christmas cards.
I work part-time, Wednesday-Friday each week. I'll be looking in on this thread on my days off in future. What a lovely bunch you all are!

Morning all
Hopefully I will wade through the heaps of washing that need doing, and get a good tidy up done around the house now everyone is back at school.
I have decided to only decorate the inside of the house this year - normally I go mad and get loads of Trick or Treaters but lately people have been bringing groups of 20 toddlers at a time and you run out of sweets after 3 visits so it doesn't seem worth it. I could buy loads of sweets but that's too expensive now!! Also my DD is going to a friends this year so I don't feel too pressured to take part!
Off to start my chores - have a good day all0 -
HAPPY HALLOWEEN
Morning All
DD baked some cakes and halloween biscuits last night and oh what a surprise I had a sink full of washing up this morning
All the beds are made and I have some washing on, but it is very grey here so it looks like it will all have to go on the airers.
I finally finished DH's cardi last night so all I have to do is block it and sew it up
I have some monster hands to make today ready for the trick or treaters later.
(((((Hugs)))) for all in need of one

¡Hola!
Thought I had better pop my head over the parapet:o Still reading, and sending belated anniversary wishes to BBirds, nd anyone else I missed.
Roasting Chicken - do not over cook it, when you think it has had the time for the weight, get it out, pop a fork in the joint between the legs and the body - if it come out clear then it is cook, if red then it needs a LITTLE longer. If when you carve it you can see it is pink, then just pop it into the microwave for a couple of minutes;)
Starting the Daily, not a major, go to the prior days, copy the bit at the top of the thread, change the date in the title and on the first line of the thread. Then post. This let's anyone who logs in see someone has started the thread, then edit to add your comments. If you forget or get the date wrong in the title then you can change it if when in edit you go to advanced mode. I usually highlight the top bit and make it itallics (the I above the typing box) and the sizes boxed to 1. But we all do it slightly differently.
WM is on with the bedding, got two loads done yestereday, and have a few colours to do, but may leave them for a day or two. Only 10 days left now before we leave, so operation clean up and use up is starting. Managed to get a £10 and a£12 room in Jan & March for our next trip in the sale :T
Walked down to a bar half an hour from us on Saturday night, for a cheapo meal and live music. Wore some ankle boots under my trousers that I hadn't worn since last winter. Now have blister on little toe - all say ahhh!

Morning all,
Drizzly rain here, so washing will go on the airer, I still feel very rough, so will do the minimum.
Have to go to the PO and post off 5 ebay parcels, still waiting for one to pay, tidy through kitchen and lounge, do online shopping.
Dinner tonight will be a minced beef and onion pie, thats if I have the energy to make the pastry, if not I shall shove some jacket spuds in.
Take care all xx0
