I am trying so hard not to get excited, after everything that's happened i need to prepare for the worst, but this just seems to be the most positive thing that has happened with the house in ages!!
I wasn't very taken with one of them just by the way she sounded on the phone, & i already kind of have a favourite, but i know that's not going to help, so i am going to try really hard to be open minded & i've got my dad & hopefully the next door neighbour for second opinions... wish me luck!!!!
BDINI - got everything crossed - trust your gut reaction, if it didnt feel right in the phone, dont go with it!

hee hee, you're quite right, although I didn't really enjoy spending today - it all seemed a bit of a chore, everything I did buy was pretty much stuff we needed as we'd run out of (such as tin foil, orange juice) or I'd buy normally and was a good deal (cat food on offer, micro porridge at the £1 shop). My only unecessary spends were the crocus bulbs, and the LED lights at the 99p store, making a grand total of £1.30. Although i did buy some parcel tape at the £1 store (£1 for 2 rolls) since I've managed to flog a few bits on fleabay this week, only to find 1/2 a roll hidden at the back of the draw  still can't complain as it will get used over time.
Sorry guys..waffling....:o
Good morning everyone,
I often find it a chore to spend at this time of year, but think with me it's because I can get a bit claustrophobic when the shops are very busy and excessively warm:mad: I'm sure the parcel tape will come in handy Kerri and there is also free listing this weekend, so you may be able to list more things to sell anyway:D No apology required for waffling by the way.
BDNI- Good luck with the viewings
Jinty - Love the calorie free cupcakes
I'm off to work later as the Christmas lights are being switched on, so I hope everyone has a good day whatever they're doing.
Red:)If you've nothing decent to say, perhaps you shouldn't say anything.
£2 savings jar £300:D

Good morning gang!
Well, it's Saturday, TG! It's been a busy week, so finally having a chance to wind down.
Had a great time at the concert last night - the guy playing was Rob Halligan. Brilliant musician and an inspirational guy.
We sold a lot of coffees etc in our "Acoustic Cafe" and some of the proceeds go to fund classroom building in Ethiopia so it's all good!
Today MAY be a NSD, I am off to Co$tco to stock up on fruit. I am eating tons, in fact I may turn into a satsuma any day now!
However, this wont count per Jinty's NSD rules! The challenge is to get in and out of C0$tco without spend anything else!;)
I can report another NSD for yesterday though - that's #13 please!
Other than that, I plan to take it easy today, telly, reading and staying out of the gale that's blowing here!
Have a great day everyone!:)

What a good idea, I must try that one. Not today though as I know I need milk, potatoes and juice. I'll have arms down to the ground if I try to walk home with that lotFree by FiftyDebt of the Moment -August NSD Challenge 14/150 -

OK everyone, really in need of some help. Really, really struggling to fill in time without Ben - leaving work to the next morning takes forever and weekends last a lifetime (not trying to be melodramatic but that's unfortunately how it is).
Have been trying to think back to what I used to do many years ago before I had him and guess what ...... it was shop:o which was one of the biggest contributing factors to my debts building up in the first place.
Obviously, I don't want to go there again so any ideas on what I can do would be hugely appreciated - there is only so much reading, knitting etc that I can do.
I know I need to get out a bit but am really struggling to do this by myself - and, when I do, I just can't seem to do this without popping in somewhere & buying something (mostly small things but it's not helping with the NSDs and I can see it getting out of hand if I'm not careful).
Any ideas would be hugely appreciated:)Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)
2016 Sell: £125/£250
£1,000 Emergency Fund Challenge #78 £3.96 / £1,000Vet Fund: £410.93 / £1,000
Debt free & determined to stay that way!0 -
Morning lovely people:A
I can see everyone's in chatty mode already today:D:D
Sorry I didn't get on last night to do the update, I was engrossed in a spreadsheet of all things:o:o and my eyes were crossed by the time I had finished it.
Will be back later to update the totals from the last two updates (thanks BDINI and LMH xx:A:A) and do today's updates.
See you all later and hope you have a lovely Saturday

Hi rising and sending you a massive (((hug)))
You're not being melodramatic at all, Ben was a big part of your life and he's going to leave a big hole. It's especially hard as you didn't have any time to adjust to the idea as it was all so sudden.
Not sure how you feel about voluntary work but it's a great idea to fill time without spending anything. How would you feel about helping out at an animal rescue place, or dog walking for an elderley neighbour, perhaps. You may think it's a bit soon to be around dogs but they are great therapy if you're feeling down.
How about helping out at a charity shop - they're usually desperate for volunteers, especially at the weekend and sometimes in the evenings as well to help sort out deliveries.
I'll have a think and see if I can come up with anything else, hopefully that's given you something to think about for now though.
Take care, sending lots of positive thoughts to you.
