not worth listing the clothes on ebay then as bulk lots?
I've put clothes on ebay before and never had much luck (lucky to get 99p!) so with the effort involved cash4clothes actually works out better even if you don't get a massive amount for them.

I've been really put off ebay in recent years. It's really gone downhill.

  • Evening all. What a day, meetings from 10 til 4... buh! Glad to be home!

Have come home and done my budgets, if I'm good I'm on track to save £45 this week towards the holiday funds, plus the music magpie and cash4clothes stuff I need to do (and the £1 in quidco :rotfl:)

Going to go do my food shop tonight with a budget of £60 again, but I've got a work funeral to go to tomorrow and have little suitable to wear, so think I'm going to have to buy an outfit which I *may* put on the credit card. I know I shouldn't, and I've been really good not spending on the credit card of late, but I think under the circumstances it's excusable so long as it's not excessive. I also HAVE had a massive sort out of clothes to raise money for the holiday fund, so I think I should be allowed an exception! lol.

Will update on spending later after my shop, but I did have to spend £1.55 this morning on breakfast as I forgot to take it in with me. I did enjoy my bacon roll from Greggs though, for what it's worth ;)

    Hey IA,

Just a wee note to say that I've been enjoying following your diary having just started my own. Mine is because of debt as opposed to yours which is more about good financial planning but I'm hoping that once I'm out of debt I'll be able to be as determined about things as you seem to be!

    Thanks.
I started off in the same boat. In fact I've been on MSE a loooong time and had a very loooong diary about our struggle out of debt (The first was called Immoral Angel's debt diary or something like that, and was a very long time ago now and SO much has changed.

It's nice to finally be able to do a diary about being out the other side of debt crisis :)

Sorry to hear about the funeral. That must be tough. Hope you found something suitable. I guess you are getting alot of work at the moment with the ongoing financial crisis. I certainly would rather have an advisor like you who has been there if I needed help

I want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?
  • Back from shopping, and including an outfit for the funeral tomorrow I spent £69.50. Peeved that I went over budget as it means I can't save as much as I'd aimed this week BUT it did mean I didn't use the credit card, and I should be able to make it back up anyway.

I hate that food shopping costs so much these days! I used to be able to spend £50 a week for a family of 4 and cat, but now I'm lucky if I spend less than £60-£70 for a family of 3 (and cat :D). It's ridiculous!

We're all up to our eyeballs with lots of clients in very desperate situations coming through the door. Lots of repossessions especially at the minute. It's not good. :(

The 22K+ posts give your time on here away! Lol. Will take at your debt diary if I get a chance as trying to get as much inspiration and help as I can on my path to freedom.

It must be such a relief for you now so you enjoy every minute of it!

It's taken a fair while, but things have definitely turned around so I have much optimism for others :)

  • Evening.
Had a rough day, as it was a funeral today so feeling a bit blue. But thought I'd do a quick update.
I got £8 for my 3 bags of clothes. Not too shabby for some old stuff that doesn't fit me anymore.

Today was a no spend day, but tomorrow I'm on a conference in London so not a chance in hell of that being a no spend day! Hoping it won't be too much though...
