If I can pay off £500pm (inc min payments of around £213) off the two credit cards and the car loan, I could be debt free by Jan 2013, so 14 months.
This doesn't take into account the 0% BNPL but I should have enough in my normal savings to cover that when it's due along with the holiday savings. I need to work out how much exactly I'll be able to save though so am going to crack out my spreadsheets in a minute. I'd *LOVE* to be debt free by January 2013, but I need to work out if this is realistic and if I'll be able to save for the holiday, the BNPL AND clear off my debt.

Think I'm going to have to get the spreadsheets out :D

  • Well, what a blast from the past seeing your name on here :D

I remember you from years back when I was paying off my debts .... you were married with 2 little girls and working a temp xmas job in Argos I think?! I was married with 3 kids .... and now I'm divorced, remarried, with 4 kids!!!! Oh, and debt :o (Well, not technically my own debt, it's DHs, but what's mine is yours and all that)

Good luck with your goals .... this is one diary I will definitely be subscribing to, even if just for nostalgia!!!
Awww hello! Congrats on number 4! It's lovely seeing so many old names on here. :)

Glad to hear that life is on the up for you OP - but can I ask why marriage is not on your list as part of the growing up process? Just being nosey of course :D.

Because I'm a bitter divorcee already :rotfl:

No in all seriousness, I wouldn't say no to marriage at some point in the future, but I'm in no particular rush and want to a least live with the poor bloke before dragging him kicking and screaming down the aisle :rotfl:

I keep joking that I'm going to propose on the leap year... keeps him on his toes :rotfl:

You're too young to be bitter if you're not even 30, save it until you're at least 40 lol

  • Right, first spreadsheet done based on merely saving with the payments I've already got set up and nothing extra.
From 1st Jan to December 31st if I saved just the bare basic I'd save £4256.

If I need £373 to pay off the BNPL, and oh I don't know - £500? spending money for the holiday I'm going to need to work hard to pay it all off in 12/14 months aren't I! Ooh eer. Granted I can pay off extra as/when I can but considering how often stuff comes up and needs paying for, I'm definitely going to have to look at selling some stuff I think.

    Hmmmm.
