I know! Where the hell has that gone?

Had a fab night (if a bit too much wine :D). DP turned up with flowers, wine and a new book for me even though we'd agreed no presents and stuff. He is a sweetie :)

    Evening all!
Hope everyone had a good weekend. The weather was stunning her so spent most of the time out in the garden. :)

Saturday was our dance exam presentation which was nice. We spent £1 on the raffle and won a neon green tutu for the girls. They totally freaked out when we won it was hilarious. Sunday was family day we so did the rounds seeing them. Didn't really do a lot else though other than relax and enjoy the gorgeous weather.

Back to work today. Only in 4 days this week as have a day's holiday friday for my birthday, and we have 3 days off for the bank holiday next week so it's going to be a nice long weekend. Have loads of plans including 2 family meals, a birthday bbq, a wedding, horse trekking, jubilee celebrations in the village and the girls are having a sleepover with family so it's going to be all go once Friday hits!

Spends today have been £45.78 on petrol for a full tank. Did a lot of miles over the weekend to dance things so it wiped out my petrol! Eek! Also spent £17 on new flea stuff from the vet for the cat to stop his allergy coming back as he's due another and realised I'd run out. He's been much better since having this specific flea treatment though thankfully so it's worth the £17 a quarter :)

    Anyway, budget time!
Food £60.00 (no school lunchesnext week so should be able to keep this down)
Petrol £45.78 (yet to go out as it was pay at pump today)
Social £60.00 (horse trekking, wedding, etc)
    Bills £482.43
    Dance £10
    Total out£638.21 Total in
    £569.24
Deficit to make up next week-£88.97

Expecting expenses which I should get in the next week which will make up the majority of that deficit, so from next week should be able to start saving. :)

As weird as it sounds I'm looking forward to starting my spending diary again as it's been odd not doing it this month because it went all out of whack with the holiday!

I've come to the conclusion that I'm a very odd person...

    Evening all!

Received my tax credits renewal the other day and am in the middle of the arduous task of confirming my childcare. It's a right nightmare when you have two different providers and didn't keep all the invoices..
I nipped into the bank today to see if they could help. Thankfully they were really helpful and instead of m having to order then through their useless call centre and pay £5, they offered to do them in branch and post them out to me. How kind is that :)
While I was there I asked for the best way to go about setting up overpayments on my loan seeing as I can't access it via my online banking even though I can see the balance. They gave me the details and suggested looking at restructuring if I could commit to x extra per month, as they would be likely to be able to reduce the interest. It would however involve a credit check and possibly having to appeal it, and in all honesty I'm not sure I can be bothered with the hassle at the minute for a 'maybe'. I want to try and make sure my credit rating is really good for come time when I need to go for 0% cards when my deals run out. They've taken my details though and will apparently keep an eye on my account to see if there's anything they can do to help as apparently their systems update monthly. All in all they were really helpful and I was very impressed with the service. Can't say the same for the call centres though so intend to go to branch in future if I need anything!

Tonight was dance so spent £4 on that. There's no class for me next week due to the bank holiday so that'll be £4 saved next week.

Had my very statement today for the 0% interest so paid this month's payment. Only have one £50 left to pay so may well pay that when I'm back into a weekly surplus, get it out of the way and close the account.

Considering using that £50 I was paying to overpay on the loan. Might have a mooch on the snowball calculator again to see what effect it would have...

2 work days down, 2 to go and then 6 days off (if you include the weekend) which is perfect timing for my birthday :D Hurrah! Looking forward to the weeked :)

Ooooh the snowball is looking good.
I have £3361 left of my loan at 24.1% (I hate that lenders see me as high risk because I'm a single mum/divorcee )
Minimum payment of £161.28 will have it clear Aug 2014. If I pay an extra £50pm it'll bring that down to December 2013. If I pay an extra £58.72 (To round up the overall payment to £220pm) it'd be clear November 2013.

That's pretty good! I'm very tempted in all honesty as I can set up a standing order to go out on the same day as my normal payment and I won't even need to think about it then. This will give me 18 months to get the cards cleared whilst also saving.
This makes me very happy! :D Think I will set this up from next month. :)

If you can afford the extra £50 pm then go for it.

Today I've received £100 birthday money and I can't decide what to do with it.

I'm not materialistic, and because of never really having much I don't *want* for much either. I'm sure I can find something to spend the money on, but whether I'd be the best use of the money I don't know.

Argh what to doooo. My inclination is to pay it off debt or put it into savings, but I honestly can't decide which or whether to find something to treat myself with!
