I'm just still amazed at the whole thing.

    A) that the garage wanted to charge £400 for the priviledge
    B) that THIS cost £100! A lump of dusty metal and plastic...

All in I'll end up saving £200 just by sourcing the part myself. Absolute crooks!!

Well, you know which car *not* to get next time...

Maybe, but this car hasn't broken on me yet. Other than routine maintenance this is the first thing I've had to do on it, and that was because *I* broke it :rotfl:

  • Evening!
Quick update before I go and pick up the girls from after school club.
My car is fixed! hurraaaaay! They also only charged me £40 too which is even better!
I was allowed to leave work early to pick up the car, so I did my food shop of which I spent £42.45 out of a £50 budget :) I also received a letter today to say my sky subscription is going down because they've upgraded the internet line so I can get normal sky internet :D So instead of £73 a month it's now going to be £60, with this month's being £50. :D
I'm just waiting for my mobile bill to be sent tomorrow and then I can sort out my monthly budgets :)

All that's left of my budgets is £51.50 for a bill, and £20 'social budget' as I forgot to include money for a xmas meal with my best friends on sunday :) That left me with £56.22 left which I've split into two and paid off the CCs to bring them away from their limits :) Have updated my sig as well.

My dad is lending me £200 until payday (tuesday) to sort out the last of my christmas shopping, so once I've finished my shopping and sorted out my budgets, the remainder will be going on paying off the credit cards :)

Looking forward to the weekend, my eldest is doing her charity run with DP tomorrow, we've got a party with friends to go to tomorrow and the girls are going for a sleepover tomorrow night, then I have a meal with my best friends on sunday. A nice busy but fun weekend ahead! :)

  • Have managed to finish the shopping for other people and have £130 of the £200 left:j I was going to use the rest of this for the kids, but having finished wrapping and labelling/counting their presents on all honesty they have enough already so I'm not sure what to do!

I know I don't have to spend it but I suppose I could get them a new tv for their roomconsdering my paranoia of them having a old second hand £20 ebay job CRT in their room...

I am going to be boring her Sar and suggest that you save it for now for the sales and then you can get the girls birthday pressies for next year at super prices. I also wonder if after Christmas, a number of tv's will come up on freecyle as people upgrade in the sales.

I've ended up getting them one which was already cheap and on offer. A bright pink one :rotfl:

I have a random fear of old electronics catching fire, hence me wanting to buy something new. Don't ask where the fear has come from, as I honestyly have no idea :rotfl:

Now you see I would be the other way. I wouldn't trust a new cheap one, and would rather make do with an old probably better built one. But I am a few years older than you so can still be old fashioned in some ways I suppose.

It would never do for us all to be the same now, would it ? I bet the girls will love it !!!!

I have plenty of irrational paranoias, don't worry :rotfl:

  • Good morning all!
Last 4 and a half days at work before breaking up until the 3rd January. Today will be a NSD but I really need to start keeping proper track of what I spend over the weekend, as although I don't spend more than my budgets usually, I can never remember what I've spent on what to keep my spending diary up to date! Rubbish... That's what I get for having manic weekends.

I did end up getting the girls a tv for xmas, so tomorrow I need to repay my dad the full £200 he lent me. This will however leave me with money left over based on wha I know about my budgets so far.

It's payday tomorrow, so tonight I'll be updating my monthly and weekly budgets, so will update properly later :)

  • Hurraaaaaay it's budget tiiiiime :D My favourite part of the week. Maybe I should consider getting a life at some point...

Today was a NSD but then again it was so manic I didn't even get chance to think let alone spend money :rotfl: Hope everyone had a good day

Here's my weekly budgets, I've got dance tomorrow but then we're broken up until the new year. There's also no school dinners til new year. I'm not at work next week so won't be using petrol getting to/from work BUT I used extra the past weekend so need to put some in tomorrow to get me through til tomorrow, so hoping this'll last me a bit longer. I owe DP £20 also which I borrowed off him as I was a bit short.

    Food £70.00
    Petrol £30.00
    Social £20.00
    Dance £5.00
    DP £20.00

    total out
    £145.00
    total
    £232.34

    surplus to CC £87.34

Have also updated my monthly budgets, and after giving my dad back the money I borrowed for Xmas, I have £124.22 leftover, so tomorrow I will be paying £211.56 off CC1 :) :j

Going to be back in full swing paying off the cards now my Xmas spending is over and the car is fixed. Time to get back on track. :)
