Happy post christmas Tuesday!
Hope everyone had a brilliant few days. We've been very busy here but have had a lovely few days spending time with DP and his/my close family. The girls have been overwhelmed! I'm still trying to sort out the chaos that is my house, there's clutter everywhere! lol.
I have been slightly naughty and spent money in the sales, so will update properly later once I've done my budgets and won't be able to pay anything off the card this week, but I'll make up for it next week
As of January I'm going to start putting the equivalent of the girls' maintenance into the savings account for the girls holiday spending money for Majorca. There's 4 months until we go so it'll mean £552 in holiday money between the 4 of us. The holiday is all inclusive but I'd rather take too much and come back with spending money than have too little. Anything else spare from wages/weekly budgets will be going off the cardsWanting to get it paid ASAP now. No more excuses!

Finally updated my budgets so time to update. We ended up going to the cinema today so I'm 'behind' with my budgets (ie I'll need to make up money 'borrowed' from bills due later in the month. But that's easy enough to do. I don't often get a full week with the kids to spend quality time with them so decided to go out.
Spent:
£20 petrol (in budget)
£20.60 (cinema family ticket, £10 of which was 'social budget')
£13.70 (popcorn etc for 2 adults two children )
We did have a good time tho. Ended up seeing alvin and the chipmunks:chipwrecked as puss in boots was sold out by the time we got there. Boooo!
Anyway.. budget update time. So far my rent, council tax, CC2, Sky and nursery has been paid for. The rest go out between the 1st-17th of the month.
Food £60.00
Petrol £20.00 (spent)
Social £10.00 (spent)
french club £12.50
School dinners £16.80 Kids are back at school Tues hne french club and dinners...
Dance £0.00 No dance this week due to xmas
Bills £419.07
total out
£508.37
total in bank come Friday
£450.31
surplus to CC -£58.06 *pouts*
Ah well. The negative was of my own doing from being a little more relaxed over the past week and it'll be made up next week, just means I can't pay off the credit card this/next week.
Today I also sorted out my standing order for our holiday savings so I don't need to worry about saving for that.
My other plan (I would say a new years resolution, but it started well before new years and just needs kicking up a notch..) is to lose a bit of weight/tone up and get fit. I do my dancing every week but over Xmas I've gained a stone  which I need to shift, and I'm also not 100% happy with my 'flabby bits' despite the dancing (which has worked wonders on my arms/shoulders/calves btw...) so I'm going to make a plan to start toning up. I've got plenty of DVDs and stuff of Yoga/pilates but I find them hard to stick to by myself as I need outside motivation, if that makes sense.
I'm contemplating starting running on Sunday afternoons when the girls are out for an hour or so with family, and also maybe looking at other aerobic type classes I can do in addition to my dance. That plus healthy eating so get it sorted but it's just actually DOING it that's the main issue! Especially with trying to stay motivated while working full time, looking after a house, 2 kids and a cat!
Anyone got any hints/tips? I've got friends who swear by weight watchers but I've tried dieting before and I generally suck at it...Total 'Failed Business' Debt £29,043

Hello IA, you've come a long way since you started on here.
Is your youngest at f-time school yet? If not, that will help out when your childcare starts reducing.
I always liked slimming world rather than WW and I'm re-joining again soon though I wouldn't be keen if I was on my own with 2 kids working f-time. I've just lost my job and I'm not keen on applying for anything f-time and that's with a husband, a secondary school age child and an almost 9 year old, so I'm full of admiration for you.
I *think* there may be some dieting threads on the beauty boards if you just wanted some support.
Whilst you're shopping in the sales get yourself a 'cinema bag'. One big enough to hold some goodies in and take them with you. That's what i do.0
