Theatre being built in old chapel!

one does not....
Considering ' one' has had the same information as the rest of us from the original poster, then one would be very brusque in their manner to assume that everyone else is not getting the facts straight, when the OP is not giving more info.
Look on google, what comes up first? This post. If the village was in so much uproar then there would be more info available. Seems to be very little acton by the residents. Heaven knows how they would feel if a mosque was taking over the chapel. Response would be mass tutting !
If 'one' comes on here and for their third post comes out with....
It would be great if people got the facts straight. Can someone tell me why this is even being discussed by people who know nothing about the situation?
One would assume that they were a local resident. or a troll. It is also an open forum, so you get the good with the bad. I like to tell it as it is.
One is typing in this particular style, due to the sensitive nature which is surounding the residents of this quite nice, but very posh village, by the looks of it. They wouldn't understand Lancastrian!0 -
Bare Bones is a common name for theatre groups. Usually because they are working with very basic production facilities.
So it is very likely that this group is named in the same vein and the moral outrage is at best misguided, at worst hypocritical, as very few people upset about it would be regular attendees at the place concerned.
Anyway, the history of theatre is closely linked with the history of Christianity. Passion Plays, Christmas Mumming and the like.
As long as they aren't conducting Satanist rites for real in there, there is nothing to get het up about - unless it's the fear that having people going there in their cars might affect the local property prices. Oh, but is the thought that they might want to work with children in one of their projects? Or that their adult productions have included mention of homosexuality?
I wonder if there were the same howls of outrage when it appears that Housing Association/Council houses were built at the end of the road?
Oooh, look - even their own website confirms that bare bones relates to their approach to the dramatic arts, not to upset the great and so very worthy of the area. http://www.barebonesproject.com/#/the-barebones-experience/4552266150
And it isn't that idyllic - the number of criminals on their way from London to get to the coast for a quick escape from various gangland dealings that tend to get picked up at Forest Row - which is a little town full of pubs, a Tesco express type place and quite a few boozers of a Friday, Saturday and Sunday night (and quite a few dealers) - shows that this isn't a perfect patch of little England. It's a convenient stop off with lots of Forest for disposals, trades and deliveries of people/goods and other such unpleasantries. Oh, and several well known dogging spots.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -
i think the best thing for the diocese can so so the residents dont get this used by a theatre group is to sell the chapel the one of the energy companies so they can pull it down and build a wind farm as thats the norm these days.0

it's unlikely as it's deteriorating and there's no mention by any of the people against it, that it's still active http://www.thisissussex.co.uk/Future-chapel-decided-residents/story-13674980-detail/story.html
From the thread it seems that the OP is banging their pots and pans together to create a fuss, when it didn't go well they threw a few lies in and then signed up again as another person against the idea.0 -

Aberdeen used to have loads of churches.
Most of them are pubs now!
Times do change and there are a lot fewer church-going folk now, so it does seem logical that places of worship are going to get converted into something else. I think it's very much a case of "use it or lose it."0 -

I know that  just if the theatre group dont take it over what else will happen to it.0
