So let me see what have i managed today then?

The biggie for me today was meeting a really good friend of mine in Belfast - i haven't seen her since June cos i haven't been able to go out very much!! I was very very anxious but determined to go and it was just soooooooo lovely :)

I also ordered yet another £5 voucher from swaggers today - last one was on 28th Oct and i got it through today :)

Wrote a blog post re maxi

    Relisted some things on ebay

    JPJ

posted £10 cheque off to egg for my fees statement

decided to seek some legal advice about a fall i had a few months ago - i fell off a loo that wasn't attached to the wall :o:o:rotfl: I wasn't going to go down the compo route then i thought well why not?? I did fall and hurt my leg - no idea if i will get anything but sure its worth an ask and would pay something off a debt if i did :)

I think thats it for today!! Good that i managed some things anyway :)

  • I am falling behind rather. Oh well. Today was better.

    1. Paid in two cheques to the bank finally (have to drive 9 miles to find a branch of our bank open on a sat)
    2. Did some surveys and "updated profiles" on mysurvey and valued ops
    3. Made a cushion for a present
    4. Picked out fabric from the rag bag to make ragdoll for a christmas present - husbands old shirt for face and arms, old stretchy jeans for body and dress, bit of lace for a petticoat, stripy old summer dress for legs and black felted jumper for hair.
    5. Found pattern for scarves for friends Christmas presents.

I am obsessed with making Christmas presents at the moment.

Slowdown i have just joined this thread too, I think u've made some great positive steps so keep it up, I love reading what everyone has done, it keeps me really motivated! I was just going to say that if you are pushed for time but want to make things from scratch to save money then you could try the recipe cards from supermarkets, they are free and I know the s*insburys ones have the eat well for less message atm so cud help. Their value range (apart from baked beans, yukky!) is really good and you can barely tell the difference cuz I lived on it as a student as Mr S were my local. Do you go there because its the easiest supermarket to get to? Cuz if its not then it might be cheaper to shop elsewhere, or get it delivered even by Mr A or Mr.T and it would save u time. I bet feeding ur family is hard cuz i only have my boyfriend and me to feed and he easily has the appetite of a teenage boy, maybe even 2 teenage boys, I don't know where he puts it!! :)
Thanks for your encouraging message suzitiger. I think you are right about changing the supermarket. MrS seems very expensive but they sent me £12 off a £60 shop so I decided to use them but I did shop at L*dl the other week and found it very cheap indeed.
Thanks for your hints about the recipe cards too. I spotted someone gathering a handful yesterday at the shop. I will give them a try as I know my recipe books seem full of stuff you need hours to prepare.
    5 things for me today
    6. go to the library to do my work with my son( and his work) who finds it difficult to concentrate on his own home work in the house
    7. bake a cake and some flapjack for lunch boxes and hungry after school teens
    8. go for a 30 minute brisk walk with pedometer on
    9. get my oldest son to complete a maths question in prep for GCSEs
    10. finish all the washing/ironing/putting away of clothes

Oh that looks a bit of a scary list now I have written it but its so helpful to note down what I want to get done because then I really want to complete them.
Hooray for this thread. Its a great motivator.
    Thanks everyone

I think it is fab, as well as :money: that you can make your own gifts. I am rubbish at sewing and knitting.

Now thats impressive vintage 43. Must have been a pretty big jar. I think I have about 58p in my money box! Also a big well done to suzitiger for clearing the clothes pile in your bedroom. My husband likens mine to the great wall of China because he thinks you could see it from space!
    Keep up the good work
    :)
  • mine for today:
    1) used tesco vouchers
    2) did some surveys with quidco
    3) looked at signing up with toluna
    4) found another job to apply for
    5) gave husband and daughter stuff from the fridge to eat when they went to the park instead of buying stuff.

Thanks, it is one of those lovely pottery ones, had a lightbulb moment yesterday after lurking on here for ages, it does seem alot, just goes to show i was filling up the pretty thing rather than concentrating on the debts!
    Positive for Monday
    • Taking dog for a walk first thing
    • Pay all the money from money jar into the bank
    • Check bank balance and pay a little something off barclay card
    • Have my tonsils out
    • Eat some toast, then be back home on Tuesday
    • Try to think of the money I will save not eating:rotfl:

hopefully get back on here and stay motivated on wednesday x
