:hello: slowdown and welcome to the thread. Of course you can join in :)

I am going to go through my cupboards and order cupboard stock, like brown sauce, barbecue sauce, beans, etc. I have lots of stuff too that I should start using, and then buy stuff to go with it, instead of.

So good challenge for both of us.

Thank you for the welcome Aesop.

I managed a quick trawl of the cupboards and put together a menu for the week. I still spent £90 at Mr S which I was not aiming for but I really have no idea anyone more what it should cost to feed 2 adults and 2 teenage boys with appetites that never seem sated. I also work full time and find it hard to cook the basics. Any way today I managed to.....
    1. use vouchers in the supermarket
    2. do 7500 steps but am 2500 short of a days fitness aim of 10000
    3. did menu plan
    4. trawled cupboards

I have enjoyed having a focus today and will be back tomorrow with some more aims. Good luck everyone else with yours.
    Slowdown x:)

Slowdown i have just joined this thread too, I think u've made some great positive steps so keep it up, I love reading what everyone has done, it keeps me really motivated! I was just going to say that if you are pushed for time but want to make things from scratch to save money then you could try the recipe cards from supermarkets, they are free and I know the s*insburys ones have the eat well for less message atm so cud help. Their value range (apart from baked beans, yukky!) is really good and you can barely tell the difference cuz I lived on it as a student as Mr S were my local. Do you go there because its the easiest supermarket to get to? Cuz if its not then it might be cheaper to shop elsewhere, or get it delivered even by Mr A or Mr.T and it would save u time. I bet feeding ur family is hard cuz i only have my boyfriend and me to feed and he easily has the appetite of a teenage boy, maybe even 2 teenage boys, I don't know where he puts it!! :)

Well done Vintage!! It's so hard to send stuff back when you have impulsed bought them, I used to do that alot but not send things back. I put things in the 'shopping cart' and save it, then by the time I would go back I usually don't want the things or i have forgotton about them so that's a good thing to try too :)

  • Right, sorry this is my 3rd message now. My positive steps for Saturday are:
    1. Had a lovely walk along the beach today and took some lovely photographs
    2. Got a lift back from the OH's dad instead of having to get the bus so saved money
    3. Gave some things that would have otherwise got thrown out away on freecycle
    4. Tidied up the pile of clothes in my bedroom FINALLY :)
    5. Watched loads of lovely fireworks from the window for free :-D :-D

    5. went shopping at boots acm today and was so worth it :D 2 vouchers, one for £2 of any lipstick and Free No 17 product when I bought any No 17 product :D. No !7 for 2.... guess what I did.... got my free product for spending £2.29 on a new lipstick, I needed it, looked through my drawer, no lipsticks :( (£2 off with voucher), picked up new eyeliner, which was free, so only pay £2.29, saved £10.80, not that I would have spent that much anyway, but felt good :D
