Morning all!
Surprisingly the cats actually managed to let me lie in til 8am new time, they must have wanted a lie in too. Woke up though with a humungus head cold and sore throat so lots of honey, lemon and hot water for me today (with a splash of whisky later tonight).
No great plans for today, may convince DH to venture out for a walk this afternoon as it seems quite mild and dry out. Failing that will probably spend the afternoon making cards whilst he watches footy on tv.
Hugs to all xxx0 -
Morning all
I kept DD up late last night and plied her with warm milk and some cake to keep her belly full - I also explained that the clocks changed and that it would be too early to get up when she woke. She came in to me at 6:10 (which wasn't bad!) and asked me to put her TV on so she could watch it for a while - managed to stay in bed til half seven :T
Just me, DH and DD today (:T) DH still in bed, I've got the last of the washing in, DW on and DD is currently being entertained by washing up a few non-breakables. She is talking away to me and I just keep making noises at her in right placesDone my report for yesterdays Mystery Shop and I have another one to do later today but it's just a small one and won't take long. Today's dinner will be courtesy of yesterday's visit - Butter Basted Chicken with Parmentier potatoes and veg followed by proiteroles....the wine didn't make it past last night
Might have HM coleslaw with mine as I made a big bowl last night...deeelish!
Need to re-jig the meal plan a little with the step-kids staying with their Mum til after the weekend, DH is going to carve the pumpkin later - we're having a Dora the Explorer one! Think I'm going to try a pumpkin soup so I'll look for a recipe.
I expect to also spend a good bit of today lazing around catching up on TV with DH

Morning all...have been up since 5.30 due to a nice person deciding to rev his motor - and I was even more annoyed when I realised it was really 4.30!
Have been shopping on H&M for some early Xmas/birthday prezzies - thanks to my mum giving me a bit of cash to use. :A
Formula 1 is on TV - that's my treat for the day.
I've got lots of research and practising to get on with today for my dissertation proposal on Wednesday, so will do that for most of the afternoon.
(For those who are up on their literature my title is 'Literary responses to Government imposed censorship by writers of 17th Century English Literature').
Then tonight I'm starting on another essay dealing with feminist critical theory with regards to female novellists in the late 19th Century.....:undecided
Inbetween I'm going to make another teabread - my 2lb one got eaten within a couple of hours!

Morning all,
I was awake at 5,was tempted to go & get the laptop then realised it was really 4 so I persevered lying there .Next I knew DH said its 10 o'clock.Just having bacon & eggs thats he's cooking, and some hg tomatoes my neighbour gave me.We are on our own at the moment DS1 at GFs as usual over the weekend.I met her on Friday for the 1st time, even tho' theyve been together a while. She has been wary of committment due to a past relationship but she called with her DS who is 7 and a nice polite little lad,and she is lovely too :j.I am so pleased things seem to be going ok for them,it took him a long time to get over splitting with his ex so its great to see him happy again.
No cooking for me tonight as we got a dine for a tenner,so to make up for the lack of Os cooking I'll go and make a start on making my Christmas cards.I rustled a quick one up for DS2 who was going to a 30th last night.
Hope you all have a good day x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -
Morning All
Had a nice lie in this morning didn't get up until 9pm
Everything is prepared for dinner and I have just put the pork in the oven.
I am off to get a shower in a mo (yes I am still wandering about in my nightie) but everything is done so I can have a bit of time to myself. DH and the kids always do the washing up on a Sunday so I will have the evening to do what I want which usually involves watching Downton Abbey with my feet up and an alcoholic beverage
Have a lovely Sunday all xBlessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

Afternoon all, havent posted or read for last couple of days ,
so have no idea what I've missed, will catch up later. Its was ds4 birthday on Friday, he had a lovely day and my house was over run with teenage lads for the day (and night). We both paid for it yesterday, was both exhausted , he really overdid it and spend the rest of Sat asleep . He feels lots better now and we are off to Cambridge in a min so he can spend some of his birthday money. Beef in the slow cooker, pots and veg all peeled . Woofer was stressed last night , idiots across the road were letting fireworks off till about half one this morning. Not blooming happy with them at all. Its not even like there were any little kids there , they are all 18 and older. The parents couldnt have been there . Dont think any of the neighbours were very happy.
WM on , house all tidy , ds3 at work till half 2.
Back to school tomorrow:T:T. Then will be sitting down and writing lists for christmas. Need to seriously start making room in the freezer so will be continuing with the "dinner is made up from the freezer" till its at least half empty. Could take a while as it is a 6ft chest freezer:cool:.
Looking after baby Gregg tomorrow whilst his mum is having some dental work done. So will need to babyfy the lounge as he isnt a baby any more and scoots around everywhere in his baby walker.
Hugs for all .Paul Walker , in my dreams;)0 -
Afternoon all
Hope all is well haven't read the end of yesterdays thread.
Brighteyes sorry to hear about your Grandad
Bitsy hope you get a break soon
Slept really well last night. DS also slept until 10am. Had a great halloween party for the kids, amazing how even the teenagers joined in the games and storytelling. DS did a brilliant job carving his pumpkin and the house looked great. Bonus as no hangover this morning. Have been to my early gym class so feeling virtuous now.
Not sure what we're up to today. Tea is either beef stew or chicken, will decide in a mo. Also got a load of washing to go on the line.
Have a good day all and big hugs to all who need one
