Sorry to hijack, but if the Policy Holder has a bump, does it effect the Named Driver in any way?"On behalf of teachers, I'd like to dedicate this award to Michael Gove and I mean dedicate in the Anglo Saxon sense which means insert roughly into the anus of." My hero, Mr Steer.0

I remember years ago I was having my hair cut and the barber said that back when one of his mate`s had just turned 18 the friend insured a car that did`nt exist. I`m not even sure if this lad had a licence. The barber said that basically he just did this for a few years and built up his NCB.
When you insure a car they ask you for the numberplate, you could give them a plate of a car that has been off the road for years, they don`t ask to see your driving licence either as far as I can remember. I`ve no idea if it would work, if it would imagine if you had done this at 18 years old!
I`m 32, been driving for 14 years and my insurance on a VW Polo 2001 1.4 TDI is about £300 fully comp with my Dad as a named driver. He never ever drives the car, it always helps bring the quote down though. You just need to try and do all the usual tricks like parking it on a drive or better in a garage, having and alarm and immob. Low annual mileage, high excess, only used for commuting and social. TBH mate if you only live three miles away you could cycle and be alot richer0 -

no, fronting would be having his dad (who doesn't drive the car) as the policy holder and main driver but the son actually being the main driver.0 -
