Hi, I rang the complaints number - 08456006014 - at about 9am today, they answered straight away. Good luck!

Thanks powellypowelly, yes that's the number I called as well - oh well, I'll just need to be patient I suppose! I'm like a child waiting for Santa at the minute! The amounts quoted on here have been so varied that I am desperate to know my outcome so that I can get working on my 2012 debt-busting tactics!!!

Shall update when I find out....

I just wanted to say a huge THANK YOU to the wonderful posters on this thread

I came across it totally by accident, just noticed it in passing. Read some posts, & thought Hmmmm....

I knew I had a cahoot flexi loan some years ago - taken out in 2004 and settled some years later - but I had no account number, no paperwork, no amounts, absolutely nothing.

    But hey, nothing to loose!

I emailed the ceo email address on the 14th December - gave my name, address, and DOB, advised I had read articles about the interest rates etc etc, and was concerned that I had been overcharged. No email reply, not even an acknowledgement.

Then this morning - letter arrives in post - dated 23rd Dec - from Executive Complaints team - lots of blah blah, dont believe we were at fault etc etc, however as a gesture of goodwill here is a cheque!!!!:beer::beer:

I am COMPLETELY gobsmacked, over the moon, cannot believe it, thank you thank you to all of the posters who have shared their experiences, I would not have had the faintest idea about this had it not been for this thread.

A very very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you all xxx :)

  • A quick update and a huge thanks to everyone on here. Received my letter today (turned up yesterday but my sister had taken it by accident) and what a Christmas present! £3800 being credited to my account in the next 5 days. This is a fantastic result and reduces my debt dramatically.

Thank you all again and I will be updating you with my Dad's loan outcome shortly. Merry Christmas!

Well I just fired off my complaint via the complaints form on Satander's website and also to ceo email address.

I don't expect much - I opened the account ~2001 when the rate was about 8%APR. I used it several times between 2004 and 2008 where the rate was higher (up around 17%-19% I think) - but because the rate was higher, I only used it for short term borrowing due to the convenience factor of the account.

Still... if I get anything I will consider it a moral victory if nothing else.

Update 28/12/11 - received email from Executive Complaints with a contact name and number to advise my complaint is being looked in to.

    Me too, emailed today!

Over the 4 years of my loan i went from 7.2% up to 12%, so we will see what happens, if i get anything over the cost of a stamp, it has been worth it!

Fingers crossed for anyone else still waiting.
    Adam

How long did it take to come after sending the initial email??

Sent original email to complaints@santander on 12th Dec, received automated email reply 13th Dec, never heard anything after that, so emailed CEO on 19th Dec had personal reply off ChairmanCB@santander Executive Complaints team on 20th Dec asking for full address and date of birth, to which I replied on 20th Dec, not heard anything since :(

    Hoping I hear something soon.

Well I got the letter on 24th saying that they had investigated and everything on my loan account was ok but as a gesture of goodwill they enclosed a checque for £44 and some pennies. Not a bad return for a quick email.

Hope everyone else gets sorted asap.

    Thanks OP.
