Quick update for everyone. I emailed the CEO last night on behalf of my Father's loan. Have had a reply this morning from the Executive Complaints Team stating that they will be in contact within the next 14 days and a direct contact number for a lady called Michelle. Still no news on my loan though ...0

I emailed the CEO on Tuesday, and still have not had an acknowledgment email. Concerned now that they have not got it, but dont want to send it again so soon incase they have received it.“Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?”

Hi
Thank you again to happy bunny!
Complaint - 2nd Dec.
Resolution - 13th Dec.
Result - refunded £5553 to the loan account (22nd Dec) (£557 left!!) showing on the account. Not sure what my new payment will be but planning on paying back ASAP.
Thanks

I promised happy_bunny to post how I got on with my complaint letter, so here I am (first time post!)
After happy_bunny kindly pm'd a template to use, I emailed Santander on Monday 5 December. I emailed both the ceo and the complaints email addresses. I got an auto response within a few hours from the complaints team.
Today (Thurs 22 Dec) I received a letter dated 20 Dec with the usual response that everyone else seems to have: "... unable to find anything that would suggest Santander has made an error, however, as a gesture of goodwill we are prepared to re-calculate the loan." And ... just over £2,800 will be credited to my loan account within the next 5-10 workings days. :T
This now means I have less than £2k left to pay off (and I was overpaying anyway so hopefully this won't take too long).
The letter did also say that from this point forward interest would continue to be charged at the current rate.
So, a big thank you to everyone who's contributed to this thread, I would never have known otherwise.
Oh, and although I've read these forums for years, it was this thread that prompted me to create an account. Maybe I'll be inspired to contribute to other threads now.
Great forums, great site! :j

Looking at the above post, it may be a wise move to send my email to the complaints team as well as the one I have already sent to the CEO. Could you tell me what email address did you use for the complaints team please mousewife??“Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?”

Hi davemorton, the complaints email address I used is: complaints@santander.co.uk

I should've added, the letter I received today came from 'Executive Complaints' and was signed by a member of the Executive Complaints Team.
Hope this helps
