To everyone whose getting settlements with Santander/Cahoot, did your settlement notifications come via Email, Phone call or Mail. Did anyone receive any further communication from Santander after their initial email acknowledgement, or just the settlement response?
Mine came by good old Royal Mail, nothing by email after the initial acknowledgement.0 -

From reading other post it would appear that Santander are sending out a "standard" reply letter. Is there a way to post a copy of the letter I can't see how you can do this ? Or perhaps could someone else post their letter.0

I had:
1) an email acknowledgement of my emailed complaint to the CEO email address
2)a missed call from someone in the exec complaints team asking me to call them back
3)a phone conversation with exec complaints when i called back, this was when i was told i would be given a settlement, and the amount
4)a letter from the same person in exec complaints explaining the "no fault admitted" and that it was a refund of the difference between original rate and final rate, with the settlement cheque.

I have had a PM this week and wanted people be awaire of an issue.
Most people have no idea of the amount due back to them so will accept what Santander say, however the message I got was from a customer who had an idea how much the refund should be - they had a number of different calculation amounts from Santander. After 3 figures they were told they had to accept the last one, so they asked for a copy of the calculation. Santander REFUSED them access to this!
They accepted the amount but the matter is now in the hands of the FOS to try and see exactly how Santander are doing the re-calculations.0 -
Huge thanks to harry6854 for creating this thread, and arbroath lass (and harry6854 again) for the template letter on page 2, I've just got off the phone with Santander who told me they send out a cheque yesterday for £4.8k!
I sent the email on the 13th, got the auto-reply and a call on the 14th, the cheque was posted on the 23rd so it should arrive just after Christmas!0 -

Did you just call the regular Customer Service number? My dates are similar to yours so I gave them a call (on the complaints number but they're shut so I got passed through to Customer Services) and they were unable to see my balance and advised that any further information from them will probably come in writing but I can call the Complaints Team on Wednesday when they open! Now I'm intrigued......0 -
W O W ! ! ! I sent an email off on the 20th and was getting concerned that I had not received even an automated message saying they had received my email.........This morning, only FOUR days later, I opened a cheque for just over a grand, WOOOHOOO. Got to be the fastest pay-out yet!! Thanks everyone for bringing this to my attention, and thanks for the draft email happy_bunny.
