actually i work retail, not direct, so our contract terms are in a different ball park entirely, direct where you placed your order is a business website not consumer, theyre a lot meaner on returns and refunds than we are in retail.
Staples.co.uk is bound by its own terms & there are no separate terms for retail consumers.
And Staples are mean on returns because it a business focused model & they expect other business people to honour agreements made.
In court Staples would be stuffed.

Well I am sure they are oos on many items as my printer got cancelled yesterday. I received a very rude email saying order cancelled and do not reply to the email. No mention what I should do if I need to contact.
This was my first order with Staples so not very good start. I think they are misleading customers.0 -

If they sent you an order confirmation email to you prior to getting a cancellation you can demand a replacement. If they don't do that then you can sue them for the difference in cost that you would pay elsewhere.
Legally they are screwed on that one but only if they sent the order confirmation out. They didnt do that with most but they did with many.

Totally agree about Staples poor service on here, you cannot honour it for some and not others even if you only have half of the orders worth of stock. People who got the confirmation mail should contact staples and read the contract out as detailed above and make sure that they receive an alternative product from Staples.0

Hi there,
i can confirm the email is genuine, there was an issue whereby call centre staff were using a template to reply quicker to customers, this was simply the SD card one, they were supposed to edit out the SD card bit lol. i know sophie and that is the right email address, bear in mind staples direct used to be Neat ideas ltd, staples bought them out and we all changed email addresses, sec uk stands for staples european catalogue.
