Cabrio carrier - help!

That's great news, rising! I feel less guilty now as I encouraged you to buy it and I was getting worried :rotfl:
h007 - I keep mine in the spare bedroom. Spot the cat is sitting in it now (with half of the top lid open). He will be sick of it soon as he will be in it for hours tomorrow because he is going to his first cat show miles away in Berkshire (the Ocicat and Bengal Cat Club show). I keep telling him, but he is not taking any notice of me :rotfl:0 -
Friday - I know you'll probably not read this before you go, but just to say "best of luck" and we'll be thinking about you...... Go get 'em Spot!:DGrocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

Was a bit fiddly to put together but I'm there!
Can I ask a question of anyone who's got one (Friday!!!!! Snuggles!!!!!)
Do the 2 bits of the top lid on your open/close easily - mine does go together but once you've opened it, it all goes out of line and it then takes quite a few attempts to get it to line up again to get the catches closed.
I'm struggling with this - and there's not even a hissing, biting, squirming cat in it ......:(
One of the lids just doesn't seem to line up properly (it is all clicked into place correctly) which makes getting the wee bits that need to slot together practically impossible. (I'm having to open the door to get it to align - not something I can do with said squirming cat in there).
Hi. I am sorry to hear of the problems you have encountered. Please contact us on 01506 605150 and we will talk you through it. Kindest regards. Yvonne Jack (Head of Customer Services at Petplanet)0 -
I believe the carrier has already been replaced.... and the new one is ok?
**************
.... got a Cabrio too, my daughter ordered one for Teddy and guess what?
It is too small for Teddy
Too short.....
My old Argos one is much bigger - taller and longer but the handle does not support Teddy's weight.....
Cabrio does but .... just about - and it says up to 11kg, no way.. Teddy is 7.5 and it just about holds his weight
Took him t the vets in cabrio, he curled up in a ball but it is definitely too small for him... buuuuu
Fred and George both wanted to sleep in the carrier though..LOL
WE got the one with orange bit.....0 -

That was OPENING post - see the rest of the thread...rising_from_the_ashes wrote: »Well the replacement's arrived and .... it's a perfect fit everywhere:j:j:j0 -
Well, had to take Mia for her booster on Sat - spent all week dreading it (the "unwellness" at both ends and the tantrum when we got there) and have to say .... it went very well!:)
We made it to the vet without any accidents (a first:j).
I said she could be "difficult" so the vet took her history letting her settle and get used to the look/smell of the exam room.
He then opened the top of the carrier and let her stay in for pretty much the whole exam (excl weight of course) - the top opening meant he could easily reach in and check her over.
She was a lot happier staying in there (a lot of her problems are stress related as she just hates being in a strange environment as well as strangers).
She did still have a bit of a hissy fit but nothing compared to the complete "monster" she usually turns into:D
So .... for anyone with a "difficult" cat - this carrier may just help.
As an aside, I was very impressed with new vet (had been having "confidence issues" with my old one after Ben and what happened) so thought I'd try this one & have to say they were fantastic.
Even better was the price - £13.25 and although this was a 1/2 price opening offer, is still way less than my old vet (paid £49.85:eek: for Archie in Sept time) & with fantastic service too!:)Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

I am soooo pleased it went well for you, rising! My two Bengals have travelled hundreds of miles now in their cabrios (they have one each) and I have not had any problems at all. As you say, the top opening makes life so much easier and I also like the fact that they are designed so that a car seatbelt goes round them well.0
