Just looked at your first pic again, that too seems to have some significant scratches on the top left of the plastic? Perhaps this is why Pet Planet where I think you got it from, were selling them off cheap?

I got mine from very.co.uk by the way. :p
  • I think it's probably just the flash but

when I first opened it, I was a bit surprised that the plastic bags that the bits were wrapped in were stuck down with sellotape (and not either heat sealed or strip sealed IYKWIM) and I did wonder then if it had been returned ......

How were the bags on yours sealed?

Thanks for your help everyone, it gives me more "ammunition" when I phone them as I can say I've seen other ones that look a lot different - will be on the phone 1st thing!

I'm sorry, I really can't remember now what the packaging was like. But I don't recall being surprised by any of it, and I don't recall any bags being sellotaped. But I wouldn't swear by this, it was around June/July time that I got mine.
  • Thanks Friday....

Will let you know how I get on tomorrow.

Looking at earlier replies, h007 got one delivered today as well, perhaps they could comment on their packaging if and when they read this thread again.

just spent 15 mins trying to put it together but it is very fiddly and it is past my bedtime. to me it seem the white top part isnt wide enough to fit in the slots on the bottom part - think i need another pair of hands!

will give it a proper go after work tomorrow and let you know

    edit;

ok i got into bed and then got up again cos it was annoying me!!
managed to get it together and mine does do up

BUT it is extrememly fiddly to do the top up and takes alot of wiggling to get the sides to align properly.
in all honesty due to this i am likely to use it as a front opening carrier. this isnt too bad for me though as i didnt get it for the top opening but for its size and the fact it held weights up to 7.5kg (i have a fat cat!)
  • mmmmm thanks h007 - lots of wiggling doesn't sound good..... (a little bit's fine) - will see what they say this morning.

Just had a look out of curiosity - must say I'm pretty impressed by the price (£30) as catalogues are often much more expensive (and if you think Zoo+ had it for just under £60....).

The other thing I dislike about catalogues is that you can't just buy something from them without opening an account - I don't particularly want accounts at several different catalogues / loads of credit checks on my report etc......

However, once my new mortgage's sorted & up and running, I may be tempted by Very as there's some nice stuff on there and the prices seem very good.

You don't have to open a credit account with very. You can have a "cash" account where you pay for what you buy at the time of order with your card, this is what I have as I also didn't want yet another credit account. If you do have a credit account, you have the option of paying over 3 months interest-free which of course you don't have with the cash account.

I suppose the only down-side is that it is £3.50 p&p: although you can get free delivery if you have it delivered to a Collect+ store, and the returns are free if you decide you don't like/want the item. ;)
