Cabrio carrier - help!

OK, so it's arrived!:D

Was a bit fiddly to put together but I'm there!

Can I ask a question of anyone who's got one (Friday!!!!! Snuggles!!!!!)

Do the 2 bits of the top lid on your open/close easily - mine does go together but once you've opened it, it all goes out of line and it then takes quite a few attempts to get it to line up again to get the catches closed.

I'm struggling with this - and there's not even a hissing, biting, squirming cat in it ......:(

One of the lids just doesn't seem to line up properly (it is all clicked into place correctly) which makes getting the wee bits that need to slot together practically impossible. (I'm having to open the door to get it to align - not something I can do with said squirming cat in there).

Mine is easy, I close the left side down then the right & it only takes a slight wiggle to line up. Are you closing down the left side first or trying to close both sides together raised up then push them down iyswim? Don't try to line them up in the air ( bad description) but close one side first.

Glad it has arrived! I agree that they are a bit fiddly to assemble :p

The top of mine can be a little fiddly sometimes, but not as bad as yours by the sound of it. I think it was more fiddly when new and got better as I used it more - not sure if it was me getting used to it or what?

I took my Harry to the vet in it the other day for his boosters - he hates going into carriers and is a big, strong boy. I managed to cope just fine with him, despite his best attempts to squirm out of it. Much better than a front loading carrier.

I suggest you keep opening and closing and getting it a little "oiled" (not literally!) and see how you go from there.... :o

I agree with this, sorry, forgot to say it. I close one side first and then the other ;)
  • Thanks guys.

Yup, I am closing the left side first (with the under clip IYSWIM) but the right side is totally out of line - and doesn't even line up with the door.

I'm having to open the door to get it to align - not possible with beloved hissing, squirming and biting (yup, she does) one.

Not a very good pic but here goes

It doesn't look that bad from this angle (unfortunately camera died so couldn't take another) - but the gap at the top is around an inch!

Apart from this - I love it!

You may have to push it down abit, Tess is already mad about fireworks or i'd try her in hers to describe it more! If not sorted by tomorrow i'll bung her in hers & try to explain better!

Are the clips up? Maybe if in the down/close position they won't allow it to shut? Sorry I know i'm not making much sense!
  • Sorry - something's the matter with the phone lines tonight, have been cut off from mum twice & keep losing the internet so if I disappear ... that's why.

Tigerlily hugs for your wee furr-babe ... poor wee lamb with the fireworks (very lucky here as- touch wood - we only have them from a few nights - totally different from where I used to live and they went on from the beginning of Oct through to Jan:().

It's not the clips that are stopping it (I've tried holding them up) the door literally won't slot in behind the front opening door IYKWIM.

The one on the other side goes behind the front door fine - but this one just won't unless I open the front door and pull it forward whilst trying to shut the top lid.

    Bit frustrated!!!

That's not right at all, looks faulty to me. Mine can get slightly out of line sometimes, but nothing like that. Here's some photos of Lulabelle modelling said carrier:

  • Awwwwwwww, Friday, those wee darlings of yours just keep getting cuter & cuter!:D

Thanks for the pics - no, mine doesn't go anywhere nearly together as yours does:( (the lid seems to get caught on the corner of the front door and just won't budge past it - unless I open the front door and pull it forward.

I've sent the pic to the retailer .... hopefully they'll get back to me soon.
