Evening all
Usual shop in Mr M's on Friday came to a whopping £40.32:eek:
Totally dischuffed as I took a shopping list and I swapped a far amount of stuff for cheaper versions - and I am not a brand person at all so most of my shopping is store brands and the basics at that.
Oh well at least I stuck to my list - but will need milk and maybe a loaf mid week.
I can see my target this month looming up a bit quicker than I really wanted oh well keep trying I say.Crazy Clothes Challenge 2012 £57.20/£100,CCC 2013 £68.67/£100 ,CCC 2014 £94.32/£100

GC 2014 Jan £154.14/£180;Feb £103.49/£180;Mar 117.63/£1600 -
This weeks spends to report:
Thursday £2.70 on marked down pitta,s TTD Lemon juice drink and milk.
Saturday £10 on fruit and veg and £6.08 in Sains, then another £5.28 in Sains today on marked down pork chops for tonight and some marked down sausages. So only £24.06 this week. However we then spent £60 on wine and cider but I'm counting that as part of the Christmas budget
I was off to conquer the world but I got distracted by something sparkly

hope everyones had a good weekend and not spent too much goodluck for next wkthis year do something that scares you for courage is not the absence of fear just the knowledge that some things are worth the risk0 -
I have a confession to make.... I log all my spends on groceries but whenever my other half goes and does one of his 'I fancy a treat so I'm gonna blow a tenner on junk' I don't include it... is that wrong? I don't know everyone's circumstances on this thread so please don't think I'm being flippant but I don't really have a need to have such a tight budget - I do it to test myself and try to keep the extra money in my pocket but it's sooooo frustrating when he goes out and spends a fortune on junk (Magnums, chocs, crisps etc). From now on (now I've confessed) I'm only going to include grocery items he buys that i would have bought if you know what I mean? Well, I know what I mean!
RANT ALERT - PLEASE LOOK AWAY NOW
I'm not including take out either - yesterday we were in Mr S and he saw the pizza counter (where you can have your own pizza made). He asked how much it was (£3.49 I think) and then was told if he paid an extra pound they'd cook it. So he did! When I asked why he said 'when we get take out pizza we can just come here and get it instead'??? I said if we're getting it from Mr S I'd rather buy it uncooked and spend an extra 5p or so on electricity to cook it myself. He really pee's me off sometimes!

NSD today, which was a pleasant surprise. May there be many more...Haven't done the GC since February, but a glance at the Tower of Receipts tells me I really need to get back into it... and plenty of other Challenges besides.0

pipersky, I wouldn't include those spends in my GC either; it would throw all the figures out of kilter... don't throw the string away. You always need string!

It was my Husbands Confirmation into the Church of England. The £10 was for the food (18 people) I made HM Lasagna, HM Garlic Bread and Salad and for Cake I made Lemon and Orange Drizzle Cakes (it's what he wanted). I only bought ingredients I didn't have in the house, and for drinks we had 4 bottles of pop and lots of tea and coffee. We used china plates (and borrowed from friends) so we didn't have to pay for paper plates.
As for a gift, i got him a beautiful book for £12 (RRP £35).
He wore his normal Church Clothes to the Confirmation.
I have a Christening in April, and my DS will be confirmed next year and I hope to set very simular budgets.
Although for the Christening I will be donating £40 towards the flowers decorating the church, as I am the flower co-ordinator I know we struggle with funding. Also we will most likely need an extra cake for after the service for the congregationWe spend money we don't have, on things that we don't need, to impress people we don't like. I don't and I'm happy! Mortgage Free Wannabe :dance:Overpayments Made: £5400 - Interest Saved: £11,550 - Months Saved: 240
