Hi,
For November I am going to have a monthly budget of £250 split into 5 weekly shops of £50 each. I went over last month so I am hoping to bake more cakes instead of buying them and attempt bread making (by hand). Fingers crossed we can do it
Thanks to those who keep this going.
K
is it a 5 week month this month?0 -
Well, I was going to wait until Saturday for the food shopping but was very bored and procrastinating about schoolwork so decided to try doing my shopping in Aldi instead of Mr T.
I managed to get everything I needed apart from a red onion (don't want to buy a whole bag when I only need 1 small one) and a small milk (they only do big bottles and it would go to waste).
The bananas also looked a bit yellow for me and would go off before I ate them all - I usually buy them green and ripen them at home.
I've bought their dog food too - looks OK to me but we'll see what poochy says at tea time;) For a dog that will eat any human food at all he's remarkably fussy with dog food.
I managed to spend £17.80 in total.
I'll probably need to get a bit of fruit mid next week and some milk but won't spend more than a couple of pounds.0 -

Have you thought about buying a whole bag, then dicing/cutting and bagging and freezing them yourself (if you use lots regulaly i mean)? I used to do that, as i only ever used 1 at a time. NOw i am just lazy and buy a big bag of frozen diced onions from asda!!:D0 -
Took DS2 to M0rris0ns & spent £65.73 - this counts as November spend because my wages have cleared for Oct, so I won't be paid again till the 25th of November (after DS1's birthday...). Feeling pleased as even with DS2 we only got 1 thing not on my shopping list as the cat's food was on offer.
We're going to use Weezl's vegetarian & vegan planner, but I got some cheese for DS1 too as he thinks he won't like the lunch stuff & yoghurts for DS2's packed lunches. I've spent about double the amount quoted for Week 1, but am not (too) panicked as the prices are for A$da, not M0rris0ns, and for last August not this Oct/Nov, I got some things (the cheese, washing up liquid, toilet rolls) not on the list. Also bought huge sack of potatoes for £4.85 for 12.5 kg, which will last us into the next few weeks.
I've got a poly pocket to put my receipts in & a post it note with my goal of £350 marked on it, less today's £65.73, giving me £284.27 left in my budget.0 -
Hi there
So, having posted a couple of times in the October thread, it's time for me to nail my colours to the mast....
I would like to say £220 for November. This is for me, two daughters, one cat and a blind, geriatric hamster.
Quick question: I stop smoking tomorrow. Does the £5.67 a day I save count towards the make £10 a day challenge? What do you think?
I have to say, I'm quite excited about this challenge.
slsGave up smoking on 16/11/11 :j
If you don't know where you're going, how do you know when you've arrived?0 -
Well done for choosing to stop smoking SLS. Quitting smoking just over a year ago was the best thing i have ever done! Good luck!0

Can you put me in for a monthly spend of £250.00 please.
I know that sounds a bit for the two of us but I am starting to get all the odds and bobs in for Christmas so I don't want to go on an overspend!

Hi Everyone
Can you put me down for £230 for November (same as October). Just scrapped in under budget for October (by 85p) but we were away for 5 of those days so its a bit more of a challenge. this includes all food, drink, cleaning stuff, toiletries and takeways for me, dh, dd1 and dd2.
Also not going to set a target for NSD as I seem to be hopeless at these so any of those will be a bonus. My month runs from the 26th October til the 25th November. Already spent £27.57 in Aldi and £3.50 in Sainsburys. Aldi have some great deals at the mo, 36p for a kg of dried spaghetti and packs of 6 or 7 chicken thighs on offer for £1.49, Bought 4 packs of these.March 2014 Grocery challenge £250.000 -
