Hi, does anyone know about the don't throw food away challenge, which is listed on message no 2 of this thread, the link does not work, is there any such (or similar) thread that anyone knows about.

'I just searched old style for 'waste; and got these resultshttp://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/search.php?searchid=113829735 you might find more if you search using different words though.

Sadly it looks as if there were a couple of food waste challenges that didn't last long ;)

sorry squeaky, we cross posted - I obviously spent too much time faffing with my searches! (although I did hang laundry in between) :D
... don't throw the string away. You always need string! :D

OK - I've started a new thread and have edited the link in the second post here to point to it.

I have decided to go for a grocery budget of $60 for November. This will mainly be fruit/ vegetables as I have enough meat/ frozen bread/ etc and will use up my milk powder in the last bit of month if need be. Need to clear house out before December and get rid of debt and save! Might be hard going, but I feel inspired. ;o)

  • Hi - just finished my final post on the october thread - went over budget but not by as much as I would have if I hadn't been monitoring spending

My birthday is on Saturday I'm 4X so I will be starting the challenge on Sunday and aiming for £500 (again) between 30th october and 30th November

    Thinking on...

The don't throw food away challenge would work well hand in hand with the grocery challenge.

    After all...

If you reduce your spending AND reduce your waste - you should be quids in ! :)

  • Good morning Girlies x Thanks to all you lovely people I have managed to rein in my spending and come in under the October budget :j. I'm lowering my November budget from £300 to
    £200.

This runs from DH's payday on the 25th of each month, so already 2 days in and no spends to report yet. I was hoping to last until sunday before I shop. I do however need to pick up some painkillers
today and it will take some iron will power to pick up nothing else.
The kids are starting to moan that there's nothing in to snack on, so I need to pull my finger out and get a bit of baking done, only have 4 eggs left as well though...I'm going to google some eggless cookies, sure I've seen a recipe somewhere.
Thanks again and good luck to all for the November challenge xx

Excellent idea. I find that by concentrating on the GC and trying to keep it as low as poss, makes me automatically use up any left overs.
