I aimed to not have a takeaway in November, and I failed on the 2nd!!

I have a friend who has terminal cancer and I went round to see her with my 10 year old daughter and the friend "just fancied a Chinese" - so I bought one for us.

Ok - new goal - no MORE takeaways in Nov. Sigh!

    That's not failure, that's friendship :) x
  • Popped to Morr*sons after work (about everyone else's lunch hour). Often do this to grab whatever reduced fruit & veg they have. Am usually very good. However not sure what came over me! Decided I was fed up of us not eating fish & beef because of the cost! So, bought rainbow trout & a beef joint! Put both in the freezer but ended up spending about £9 instead of £1!

I'll update my signature in next day or so (receipts are in my 'food purse')!

,,, Am now in bed cos OH has footy on downstairs and my feet are freezing and wondering "shall I invest in a leccy blanket for this winter"?

Cattysmum it's probably an individual thing and I take on board PennyGrabber's comments above, but I just have two hot water bottles and they do the job really well. Not sure what the purchase price comparison would be or the running cost of the blanket versus heating up the kettle but I'm an odd creature in that I'm cold when I get into bed and then get warm/hot very quickly. So having the whole surface warm would mean my already quickly heated nuclear core would go into meltdown! :rotfl:

Hear Hear Cat501!!! :T Sls1365 I have nothing better to say than that.

    Good luck dreamingofmoney! :D

I really should get off this computer and get a few things done. Not working today and feeling very unworkish for the house! :naughty: I have to go and get the nuts checked on my wheels later after new tyres on Saturday. I'll probably pop into D*n*lm M*ll while there and get the new linings for my curtains which are currently residing at the dry cleaners. Won't be a gc spend though. ;)

Keep up the great work and I'll see you all later.

    Take care,

I've got a nuclear core too!:D I'm always frozen when I go to bed but roasting within 10 mins ..... I gave up on the elec blanket last winter and am now fully converted back to HW bottles!

Re grocers / farm shops etc - we've a fantastic farm shop just up the road (has fantastic produce & has won loads of prizes:)). However, the big downside of this is that people travel for miles to go to it (from the city) so their prices are more expensive than the sm:(. Apart from their eggs - 6 extra large for 90p:D. I always get my eggs there as really like being able to see the chickens that they come from running around ouside enjoying life.

I'd love to keep chickens myself but we have a big problem with mice:eek: and am worried they would make the problem even worse .....
