topcashback - you make me sick

hi,
i don't like to discuss the ins and outs of one person's accounts in a public domain, but i feel i need to respond to this thread.
There are a number of reasons why your account has been suspended:
1) you created duplicate accounts which is against our terms & conditions. I did NOT create duplicate accounts.
2) you personally abused top cashback staff and used profanities towards them which we find unacceptable. I did NOT use any profanity. You abused me by subjecting me to unnecessary distress, suffering and evaded every complaint made about your unfair treatment and unreasonable behaviour. This is unnacceptable but typical of top cash back.
3) you made many accusations against top cashback which were false - including withholding your payments etc. payments were delayed, six weeks or more for amazon vouchers whilst other payments never arrived - and still haven't. the nature of our business means we cannot pay out cashback to members until it is received by top cashback. funny how you never told me this when I complained about my payments being delayed
4) there are patterns of abuse against some of our free cashback offers. no, there is not, never has been any abuse of free top cash back offers - ratehr the reverse of nothing being paid. If there had been any wrong doing, they would have said if something was wrong. Excuse making to deflect the unacceptable behaviour of top cash back
i'm not sure where the 40% of top cashback users not getting paid is from, but this figure is again inaccurate. look at the main mse site and the broadsheet newspapers websites for details - several posters here have been cheated out of payment
if you wish to discuss this matter further, please email the address shown in our mse profile.
Regards,
adam
top cashback
This is the first time that I ever got a name from anyone from this company! I told them time and time again to put names to replies but they were either too dim or just out of spite, did not. Even if just one person was cheated out of payment, then this is clearly unacceptable.

TopCashBack T&C
1. Site Membership & Termination of Accounts
As we don’t charge a membership fee, we are happy for you to make the occasional cashback transaction on behalf of other family members or close friends. In other words, we don’t insist that each family member or close friend necessarily have to create their own account. This is subject to fair usage however and one account should not be used to make purchases on behalf of many other people.
Also, have a look at Martin's very helpful guide:
Scroll down to "The 5 MAJOR Cashback Safety Rules!
Don't use cashback sites without reading these!"
Thanks for that link for the guide - had to delete it from my reply as am a new member.
Most things were bought were for myself off that site but there was just one high value transaction was for the inlaws - who have now switched to quidco and have their own account there as opposed to sharing mine. Another high value transaction for my other half with an occasional other, but can't be many. She won't use any cashback sites after this and one other friend made a purchase who won't use tcb either. So it is not as if I were making all that many third party purchases (can't be more than half a dozen) and haven't broken any rules.0 -
6 third party purchases sounds like a lot to me and may be considered 'many' by TCB.0

whilst i don't know the full story here, i feel i should object to the use of some of the language in here, in light of some recent events.
the use of 'devistating' [sic] and 'making my life unbearable' are a tad melodramatic, especially where the last 2 weeks 600 people have died in an earthquake in turkey and the death toll in the ongoing flooding in thailand reaching over 370. i know £73 is nothing to be sniffed at, but i think a sense of perspective is sorely needed, in particular when this hasn't actually cost you anything, other than maybe time.
i refuse to believe that tcb closing your account has left you feeling your life isn't worth carrying on with (making it unbearable). an old friend of mine once described his life as unbearable due to his dad beating him up on regular occasions and did attempt to take his own life before moving out and cutting all ties with him. i'm fairly certain your predicament, however important to you personally, isn't on parr with spending 7 years with near constant bruises, broken bones and then attempting to take your own life, but hey.
as you [may] know, cashback is never guaranteed, so by claiming that you can 'ill afford to lose this money' suggests that you're basing your financial planning around money that may not ever appear. it's like booking a holiday because you might win the lottery.
i know emotions run high with money and you feel hard done by, but there are far more important things in the world that warrant the use of terms such as devastating and 'making my life unbearable' (aswell as some of the other equally as fruity language you've used).
i wouldn't like to lose out on £73 and would be disappointed to do so, but when it's not guaranteed and not getting it hasn't put you in any immediate financial disadvantage, you can't really do anything other than suck it up and move to a different cashback website and have a good old rant on here. a little exaggeration is to be expected, but as i've said a million times, you have to have a sense of perspective sometimes.
[/rant]helpful tips
it's spelt d-e-f-i-n-i-t-e-l-y
there - 'in or at that place'
their - 'owned by them'
they're - 'they are'
it's bought not brought (i just bought my chicken a suit from that new shop for £6.34)0 -
Why do people always bring their health into it when they don't get what they want?
Personally i have not had a problem whatsoever with TCB as PaulWellerfan say's it's a nice bonus not a right.
Couldn't agree more!! Off topic but...I work in a housing association and get sick to death of people using ill health to get preferential treatment.
I've not had any problems with TCB some things do take longer to become payable but eventually do. And yes it is a bonus not a guaranteed cash. I always buy from the best value site whether that a TCB site or not just in case.

Coming back to check on your latest posts to this thread is a bit like keeping hitting my thumbnail with a hammer.
It's such a pleasant feeling when the pain recedes ...0 -
This post does some up a lot of the frustrations experienced with topcashback, a poor standard of customer service.
For the record, I did NOT had multiple accounts with topcashback. Why would there be any need to? Several of us, in-laws, partners, etc used ONE account between us all. What is wrong with that? I will tell you - NOTHING.
With regards to some of the comments on other posts. I suffer from Autism, Chronic Stress and Depression which makes it very difficult to deal with people at times. When one is getting the run around - deliberately in my case by some nameless character/s from topcashback who has made life pretty much unbearable - it is pretty devistating being cheated and then to have all our money due just vanish, well, it stinks. It was clear that tcb were causing me severe distress, which they then went on to wind me up even further. tcb are little more than playground bullies who take dinner money from those who can't fight back.
It would also appear from some posts that tcb may be telling other people things that I do not know or have been told. If there was a problem, why didn't they say anything to me? Some of the comments here are just libellous, blatently untrue. The spineless tcb people still have not had the courage to say anything to me - or pay up.
If people think that being direct and to the point is being "rude" and "abusive", well I can't change that. Not once have topcashback been straight with me. It is my belief that someone/tcb in general have acted as "agent provacatour" (forgive spelling if it is wrong, probably is) and have taken great delight in their rotten behaviour and the suffering caused.
If tcb had said to me that they though there was a problem and didn't want my custom, explained politely and paid up, then closed the account, whilst not an ideal situation, would have been a honest way of doing things. Not like this.
Footnote:- I stopped using tcb around a month or so before this happened and switched to another cashback site. In some cases, cashback is a little lower but the excellent service more than makes up for this. The people over there seem quite nice. Bit of a hiccup with something that was sorted by them with very little fuss and they waived the annual membership fee in return. More importantly, they apologised for the error and they went out of their way to sort it for me. Brilliant. I've refered others there as well.
Funny how tcb slag off their rivals on their site. Actually, I find this sort of this negative marketing rather distasteful.
Hi,
I apologise for this situation, but I would like to clarify a few things further.
Previous accounts associated with yours had been abusive and threatening and it was agreed for these accounts to be closed - with Top CashBack actually paying out the cashback without receiving it on the understanding that we parted company.
Following this, new accounts were created and the same behaviour ensued, expecting payments to be pushed through etc. Upon questioning, we were informed that this was your boyfriend's account that had been closed and not associated to you.
In this account, claims were raised for merchants who have been susceptible to and been targetted with fraud and so further details were required to verify this purchase with the merchant. As you refused to provide this information, this was classed as suspected abuse of the programme and your account suspended. As a cashback site, we have a strong duty towards our merchants to protect them from abuse to allow us to continue offering cashback to the many genuine members.
If you email the address located in our profile, we can look into your account further.
Unfortunately we cannot pay out cashback to members until it is received by ourselves - your account was treated no differently to the 1 Million+ other accounts.

Would just like to say, (as a long term poster) I have never had any problems with TopCashback and I am more than happy to use them.
I see this as a bonus to my purchases and do not (as they state on the site) take it for granted.
I will continue to use them quite happily.0 -
Perhaps TCB should take steps to prevent this user from signing up any more accounts. If only to protect their staff members from abuse and libellous accusations.0
