I sit the kids on the pillows in the back of the car
Or you could lean them up against the doors for them to rest their heads on if it is a long journey

This may be stating the obvious, but every caravan place we've looked at (or been to) always says bring matches (gas cooker).Saving, decluttering and doing alright.:xmastree: :xmastree:0

Big thanks to this thread!
I took 2x hotdog tins onions & buns, 2 x pizzas, HM spaghetti Bolognese & garlic bread, family steak pie & tin of mushy peas, eggs, sandwich stuff & crisps etc
We ate out once, £25 for the 4 of us as went in happy hour. We didn't get any takeaway as had loads in still & only got milk and bread from the shop. Took our own treats, snacks and juice for the kids too, this saved us loads.
Had a lovely time and will do it again, didn't feel like.I was cooking all holiday and didn't have my hand in my pocket all the time for food & drinks plenty for the machines tho!
Thanks again to everyone for the help.and ideasLiving the simple life0 -
Thanks for the update! and so pleased you had a great time! in years to come you will 'perfect' your supplies - to suit yourselves. in the meantime, if I have been any help, then you are welcome!
tip for the 'machines' - we had a massive jar that we called the 'spare coin jar' - everybody put spare coins in - from 1ps to 1 pounds - before we went on holiday (this was the 'big holiday' not the weekends down the van) it would get counted up and ceremoniously taken to the bank and exchanged for 'real money' for the kids 'mad money'.0 -
I never thought for them to take the penny jar - I might bag it up next time into a set amount for each night with a mix of penny's - silver and £1 coins then when it's gone for that day until the next day! XLiving the simple life0
