Good afternoon,
A slow day here - I didn't sleep well last night. One of those nights when your mind just won't switch off... The house elf and I have already been to Asda for the weekly shopping. Better to get it over with while the shop is quiet I find. Due to today's apathy my "to do" list is growing ever longer, but I must get my backside into gear and clean the fish tank before the fish go on strike.
Bargainbird I bruised the ligaments in my knee last year and was stunned by how painful it was. I didn't even have a bruise, but could hardly walk. Try and rest your hand if you can (I know....easier said than done).
Take care all of you.0 -

I only realised yesterday because there was less traffic! As to depression I'm no authority. I just know that the one time I suffered from it I didn't want to know about anything good, I didn't want to know about anything bad, I didn't want to know anything about anything. If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
I had a friend drop in unexpectedly this morning, it's a good job she knows me well as I have a hugely swollen bottom lip & there was a pair of knickers draped over the kitchen tap, now you know why I prefer peole to let me know if they are thinking of visiting!

Not been on for a couple of days, work and visitors being my excuse, so greetings and hugs to everyone in need.
Not working for a couple of days so going to concentrate on xstitching a picture for a xmas present, not too much to do so hope I will get that finished before I go back to work on Friday, its difficult to buy for a 76yrs old man, but in his youth he was a miner and I know he hasnt many pictures on the walls of his flat, so Im hoping he will like it.
Youngest DD starting her "dream" job today, her words not mine cant understand why people want to be an accountant, I find it difficult handling money, well I think I mean I find if difficult holding on to it, I dont seem to have trouble spending it, anyway I'm proud as she left uni this year and by the sounds of it is very lucky to have a job doing something shes loves! most seem to find it difficult getting a any job these days. I can remember when I left school you thought you were hard done by if 2/3 of you were going after the same job not the hundreds that go for the same jobs today.Anyway starting to ramble so off to get lunch and defrost the freezer, also get my washing in as it should be dry now, its a lovely sunny day in north staffs£1 a day 2025: £90.00/365 Xmas fund0 -

Cariad - welcome! I hope you get some sleep today after night shift!
Redruby - I am always delighted to hear that your dad is asking for cake!
Cleared up here now but was a rainy morning - well, off and on. managed to dodge showers with the dogs.
WM on - have neglected to peer into the basket for a while (only DH and me here) so I have a couple of loads to do. Not bad though.
Made a batch of tom based pasta sauce last night so have that to bag up and freeze.
Hester, the talk of your soup pots has made me realise I haven't made any for ages. All sound delicious! Must get some on the go. Hope your DD's placement gets easier.
Ok, am off for a cuppa. Meeting up with DD, her OH and my DH for tea tonight as it's the steak/ grill deal at W$therspoons. The chicken melt is delicious.yum yum.
Take care all. Wrap up, those of you with colds. Feel sorry for your OH, Adelight, as it's hard to keep battling on in a new job if you're sick. Hope he's better soon. Lamewolf - yes, it's hard to even think sometimes never mind think of good things. Thinking of you.

Why is it that when you have finished cleaning and the house is all shiny and sweet smelling no-one comes at all. However, let there be dead flowers in the vases, a not-so-thin layer of dust everywhere, hobby things all over the sitting room, unwashed dishes all over the kitchen, a pervailing smell of stew and the cat has been sick in the hall, the door bell never stops ringing. S-ds Law. The same law that says if you have been gardening and realising that you have run out of milk you throw on your dog-walking coat and rush to the shops looking like a refugee from Les Miserables, you are guaranteed to meet all the people you would most like to impress.:mad:I believe that friends are quiet angels

bramble how often are you having the stomach pains? Have you erm....how do I put this delicately.....been to the toilet??
If it carries on ring NHS Direct or go to A&E - hugs for you, hope it eases soon xxx
Hugs for doodoot - do you think the arguing has been more due to the financial strain rather than anything else. If you're both tense and worrying it must be making the atmosphere like a powder keg to explode xxxI have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

Wonder if it's got anything to do with my not being able to sleep? My skin is slightly 'prickly' (kinda like when you have flu?) and my eyes are so sore.
I'm going to take it easy and will call later if it gets worse.Annual Grocery Budget £364.00/£1500
