Re the decorated baby bottles, these have now been removed by ebay and I have had the following email from Baby Milk Action that clarifies the regs about baby bottles. Since they are actually allowed I am surprised that out of all the ones reported they appear to be the only ones removed.

    Dear XX
There is a message saying this item has been removed.

Advertisements for infant formula on bottles would be illegal under UK law.

Advertising of bottles and teats is prohibited by the International Code of Marketing of Breastmilk Substitutes and subsequent, relevant Resolutions of the World Health Assembly, but this has not been introduced in the UK.

Great news, shame sellers like this appear to still be stupid enough to carry on:

However they seem to think it will all be alright if they put the following disclaimer on their items:

These Dummies are designed as a keepsake, However if you do decide to use them, please take extra care and supervise your baby at all times whilst using.

Hopefully there'll be several high profile prosecutions & they'll crawl back under their rocks.

Can you imagine the fun a baby could have with this one?

She does state its a 'chocking' hazard, so that makes selling it ok then.

They also all seem to forget to register as a business- but then I suppose if they are dumb enough to sell these things then they are dumb enough to not understand ebay and all that complicated nasty stuff...

This one was removed as I was looking at it just now, which is good as I was annoyed at not being able to report the listing on my phone. She also had some poor t&cs, no postage refund on returns and did not accept responsibility for items lost in post.

  • i am amazed how these items are still up for auction. I was selling a babys dress with matching bloomer knickers(which goes over nappy) and it was pulled because 2nd hand underwear was not allowed!! what a joke. it annoys me that this lady is selling fake rip off items for high prices and nothing is being done. If i didnt need the money i wouldnt be selling on ebay

It was on the local news that they've woken up to this (particularly blinged dummies, and that kind of thing) and have raided some places in Suffolk.

I know these aren't quite the same, but still pose a danger.
