There's a lady who went to school with my sister who lives nearby (My sisters 36 - so she cant be much further off!) and she's just had a little girl and brought LOADS of them stupid dummy's with gem's stuck on them and plastered pictures all over FB - I was amazed at how many people commented saying how "cute" the dummy was and asking where can they get one. Not one thought of a choking hazard. Idiots!0

I wonder if Trading Standards would do anything? Toys have to go through strict procedures to ensure they're safe for children so surely clothes that can choke babies shouldn't be allowed to be on the market.
Why anyone would want to bling a beautiful baby I just don't know.
When we had our last idiot I reported her auctions to Manchester TS who emailed me back after a week and said they had paid her an 'educational visit' so some will take action.
Utter madness that people think its acceptable to stick small, choke able bits on to baby items. When the first one gets sued they will all fall I suspect, but it will be a tragedy when it gets to that stage and it will be firmly in the hands of Ebay and all the designers who are happy to sit back and watch this going on.0 -

Haha, this one is interesting:

there are actually some strict advertising laws around baby bottles, I used to work for a pressure grouip and we had lots of companies pulled from the market.
Going to work on that one.
I can just see those filled with cold teawhile be drunk by a toddler

Actually, full sugar ribena is better, I went to school with a boy who's parents had given him full fat ribena in a bottle as a baby and he had no teeth, just black stumps. Still makes me shudder to think of it now.0

Urgh *shudders* My cousin loved cold tea when he was a toddler, but it was more a cup of milk with a hint of tea in it. As long as he saw it going in, he was happy!
I can't believe people are stupid enough to buy dummies/bottles etc with diamontes on them. Bet the ones that did would be the first to start moaning about their "rights"."Beautiful young people are accidents of nature, But beautiful old people are works of art."

I was always fairly militant as a young mum, never even had a bottle in the house but I saw otherwise sensible mums with toddlers asleep with bottles of fruit juice still in their mouths. If I even hinted that this was possibly not a brilliant idea as pure fruit juice is full of sugar- they always insisted that fruit juice can't possibly be bad for you. I even remember a health visitor mentioning this at the pre birth talk and some well to do middle class woman asking sarcastically 'well what else do you give a thirsty baby then clever clogs'.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
