The Aldi equivalent of Baileys is really good - we get through a bottle a week!0

I have today done a full shop at Aldi and including meat, nappies ,wipes & some cleaning products & washing powder I spent just over £71 and got loads stocking up on tins & sauces , fruit veg & cereals as well :j I shop at Aldi regularly and then usually go over to sainsburys for some bits that my DP likes and think the quality & prices are great.0

I love Aldi, I'd go there for the grandessa apricot jam even if I didn't like anything else in the whole shop!0

i agree about the jam its lush ... the honey is dead rich too.. marmalade is ok ... but i like my maramalade too have big bits in it and be bitter tasting
is the first time that i have done a very large shop at aldi.... £87.61 for a familly of 5 including a few xmas goodies and some ginger wine for the mrs .... 3 kids under 10yrs and 2 x adults over 40yrs .... been impressed at the over all quality of my food shopping ... have been doing bits and pieces ( about £20 per week ) at aldi since june and today i have made a complete leap of faith ... not sure how the coffee will go down with the mrs ( she likes her kenco decaf ) ... the only grumble is the till .....waiting ages in the q .. then load your trolley onto the belt ,,, then throw at speed back into the trolley (very pretty checkout girl !!!;) so didnt mind too much ) .. then unload the trolley again pack into bags .. put back in trolley push too the car and unload into car ;; drive home unload again ... but it does keep my waist line trim ... nothing like a free aerobics workout with every purchase ; weekends are best avoided at my local store ... car park is always full and the shop gets hammered ... rather partial too the cold meats and cheese :TNSD = 3/31 spent = £97.88/31 groceries = £26/31 fuel =2/31
various debts = /£14366.89:eek:secured loan = /£13887.21 full settlement figuremortgage = /£64,342.45

Once you get used to no bags and the speed at the check out the way they don't give you a millisecond to pack Aldi's is fantastic on price, went to Tesco the other night (felt like xmas eve there) it was so packed, so jammed I just wanted to run out the shop and cry, I only had a few bits and the queues were absolutely massive, OH went to wait in the car and could not believe how long it took to get through, everyone was mumbling they were never coming again, they will, I won't, it is a superstore, huge but the queues and the masses makes a very unpleasant experience...
I love Aldi because not only can you shop there but you can also have a look at their bits and pieces they rotate every week, like ski items or tools etc and OH looks there while I shop, perfect:D0 -

Thats what i like about aldi and lidl they never get rammed like the big 4 do, you rarely get people in your way when shopping and you can take your time looking.0 -

...and you can cut your shop time down by about 50% i reckon
I get 90% of my shop there and the rest from Morrisons. It's not how far you fall - it's how high you bounce back.... :jHappiness is not a destination - it's a journey

Trying Aldi & Lidl on the run up to xmas, saving pennies (well pounds) to put towards the kids xmas pressies.Aldi we spent £53 and Lidl £47 normally we spend £160-£190 a week in Mr.T! thats for 6 of us 2 adults 3 teenagers and a little one (4) So the missus is well pleased with this weeks bargain shop.We did goto Aldi on Tues and Lidl today so breaksdown the getting fresh stuff to last.
And its lovely and quiet no screaming kids, ignorant people in a rush its laid back and no music playing Lovely! Well not so laid back at the till.... but its good

I buy the Aldi version of Pimms. Once mixed with lemonade and some fruit no one can tell the difference (I have been known to refill an empty Pimms bottle when having people round tho!):D0
