Spill the beans... on which TV ads convinced you? [IMGRIGHT]http://images.moneysavingexpert.com/images/spillthebeans2.gif[/IMGRIGHT]
There are hoards of TV ads that are over the top and unconvincing (angels falling from the sky for Lynx, really?), but we'd like MoneySavers to tell us which ones actually worked for you and convinced you to buy the product/service.

Well after seeing the Funky Pigeon ads over and over while watching Neighbours for several weeks, when I wanted to get a personalised photo card I went there. Actually really happy with the quality, service and number of codes available, so they've got a regular customer!0

lve never bought of an add , and dont get them ;l only see them from the oppoaite point of view, a bit like car sales & !!!!!philes ,all smiles & teeth to do you over,
l wish l wasnt such a cynic so much sometimes0 -
I love the advertisement on BBC1 for paying your TV licence online. You know the one with the baby and the dog - the baby gets the dog food and visa versa. Makes me chuckle as it has my two most favourite things in the whole world - babies and doggies. It has happened in my house on more than one occasion but the only thing is the dog wolfs down the baby food :T:T:TI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
Back in the 70's, the Cadbury Flake ads used to make me buy them! Loved the ambiance of the gypsy one.

Today, it's the Dove ads simply because they are using real women and I relate more to them than the anti ageing cream ads shown on models around eighteen who glaringly obviously don't need anti ageing cream!
The other one which did it recently was the ad for Heinz tomato soup, a taste I associate with nostalgia from my childhood.
On the whole though I find ads generally noisy, intrusive and irritating."Ignore the eejits...it saves your blood pressure and drives `em nuts!"

I 'very' nearly bought one of those 'ahhh bras' until I googled reviews and found out they were not what they reckon to be lol

Tesco mobile. Said they were pretty no frills, so I compared sim only contracts and they offered the best deal by far so I got it!Living cheap in central London :rotfl:0

I tend to record stuff so I can skip over the ads.
The most annoying ones are where they have celebrities being the company spokesperson saying "we blah blah blah blah" - I just think "you've just saying that for the cash and don't really work for the company at all".
Some ads are ridiculous; the ones where they have airbrushed women featuring skincare products, the financial ones encouraging you to give them your money, the insurance ones.
Occasionally an ad for some food or something may make me think about what to buy for tomorrow's meal, but that's about it.0 -
The Tesco Mobile adverts are all so very, very good, lol.Tesco mobile. Said they were pretty no frills, so I compared sim only contracts and they offered the best deal by far so I got it!
I was already with them but I don't deny the adverts reinforce the choice I made to move to them after my contract expired.
Particularly liking the new one with all the teenagers and all the great things they can do with their phones to be neatly cut by the 'father' explaining that the bills are all capped.
Again, lol.0 -
Some adverts are very funny to watch but i don't think i'd buy something just 'cos i'd seen it on Tv.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,

I must be getting old and cynical but I think I can honestly say that no TV advert has ever induced me to buy anything. Actually I switch off mentionally whenever TV adverts come on and go and do something useful until they've finished. I must be an advertising man's nightmare.0
