Hi Knitting Nora :hello: Have just stumbled upon your thread and wanted to say I hope you are feeling a bit better. Have a virtual hug from me too! *hugs*
Also, I love what you have done with the tealight holders! I've got about 30 upstairs in a bag and I had no idea what to do with them but now I'm considering a bit of glass painting and handing them out as MSE christmas gifts! What paint and liner do you use, may I ask?

Hey you,
Just wanted to send you a hug (I would use the smilie but it just looks wrong!)
Of course you feel a little down, that's only natural and I hereby give you permission to feel that way, but as you said it's just a matter of putting one foot in front of the other and focussing on the shiney new life thats waiting for you. Don't be scared of letting people see that you are worried about it all, keeping it bottled up won't do you any good and just make you feel ill again.
You have everything to look forward to and deep down you know you've made the right decision.
Also with every step you take, there is a whole pile of us MSE'verse right behind you encouraging you on.

:hello:Hi 'verse!
Thank you all, so much, for your hugs and kind thoughts - apparently it made it through, as ahh me, what a difference a good night of sleep makes!
This morning I have mocked the taunting of the boxes (for I have opposable thumbs, and know how to use matches...:D), and am rather looking forward to the big clear out required. I do have friends coming to help me pack, and others who, foolishly, have offered to help me scrub the place down after the furniture is gone, and before the checkout inspection....oh, the fun of renting!
Move aside, I'm actually quite looking forward to living with my grandad again (did I mention that's where I'm going?). He's a tough old coot, but like me, needs some company for a little while to get him back on his feet after a bit of a tough time. We get on really well (think general mischief), and I think he could do with having someone around who doesn't treat him like a child just because he's old. Plus nd he lives near the coast - which I love, especially in winter...and I have to say, living in the most land-locked part of the UK, I miss rather a lot! Will have to knit us lots of hats and scarves.....
Anyway, just wanted to let everyone know that my navel gazing has shifted upwards and to say thanks again for your support.

Hi Laura - welcome to the insanity! Thanks for your kind words - feeling much better now (see above re. matches).
For the tealights, I've used various types of relief and paints - but I would recommend any that you can bake to harden as this will save you a lot of time, and it packs really well if you want to wrap them. I find Pebeo's vitrea 160 range is good for both the relief and the paint - but it isn't cheap, so rather than going mad on all different colours etc., decide on a scheme of relief and paint colour for all of the sets. For example, if you wanted to do all the tealights in flowers, then just buy a gold relief (these last for yonks - you'll only need one for the tealights unless you go mad!) and one little pot of whatever colour you want to do the petals in (again, this lasts for ages....you'll fall out of love with the tealights long before the paint runs out!).
As gifts, I'd do either two or three together, or do one with a candle plate underneath (available from Matalan for £1, and Sainsburys for similar or a little less I think) and wrap them up - that's what's in the 'packages' to the left of the stall. If you decide to go that way, then don't buy cellophane wrap - I have an industrial size roll, and am willing to share. Just pm me your details, and I'll stick some in the post.
Shout if you need any help.

Never tried it - hmmm, these are the challenges I'll be facing once my shop opens *sits down to consider logistics of posting glass up and down the country*
To be honest, I don't think that particular vase would do very well being posted - but it's enormously easy to make and I can show you how to make one of your own from a vase you already have...I may even have more red glass beads (that's what the blobs are). I once did one in silver with teal beads which also looked really effective. Shout if that sounds like a plan...

ditto - excellent way to look at it.
Moving in with your grandad sounds great . I know exactly what you mean about living by the sea. Having been 'sand grown' myself I followed love to the big city and it was only when we moved back to the coast 3 years later that we felt just how claustophobic it had been. There is definately something about living on the edge of the land.27 years later we are still here, in debt but we would not live anywhere else. I like the beach in winter too - probably because there are few tourists clogging the lanes. I know they bring revenue into the area but they do leave their manners and common sense behind sometimes:o - sorry will step off soap box!
Hope the packing goes wellBe the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi
