Hey BTD
Many thanks for your post - what a great attitude to have; consider yourself inspirational!
Happy lurking.

Hey Knitty,
Thought I'd pop by to see you too.
I am jealous of your decluttering and minimising.
My kids sometimes compare me to Monica in Friends. I am obsessed (CDO again) with having everything in its proper place and being all neat and tidy, but don't dare open a certain cupboard in the hallway without full body armour and a helmet - something WILL fall on you/land on your toes/launch it's self into your midriff!!!! It's what we lovingly refer to as "The Glory Hole" (which if not said in it's proper context sounds very very wrong :rotfl:)

Dot - multiple strands are actually pretty simple, and they grow reeeeeeaaaaalllly fast! Keep an eye out for cheaper versions of those needles...you never know. Though if Father Christmas is following this diary - Dot has been a very good girl....
HelloI had a mooch round for some of these needles and concluded that I am now too MSE (or mean!) to part with twenty whole pounds to buy a pair...shared sadness with husband who told me 'just buy them anyway, it's only twenty quid!'...oh he has much to learn!!
Anyhow thrill of thrills, he came home yesterday having crafted me a pair from an old broom handle, he made the points on a lathe thing and found some funky little toppers to stop my stitches falling off! They are a bit rustic but I think they are the nicest and most thoughtful gift I have ever been given...Am in happy thrifty knitting heaven today :j'Forget injuries, never forget kindnesses' - Confucious0 -
What a perfect gift! I demand you smooch him on behalf of the entire MSE-verse!
And isn't the sound of knitting with them so soothing?0 -

Haha, will do! He will be pleased to hear that :j
I am going to treat myself to some balls of wool from town in a bit and then christen the needles later...I can't wait...hope the throw will look as nice as the one you made :heart2:'Forget injuries, never forget kindnesses' - Confucious0 -

Though, if he deserves Scubaangel wrath, then can I suggest you tell the police that you were simply helping him test the body armour - and let them and the local authority sort the disposal... afterall, why make more effort than you need to?
Y'know its entirely possible...he has volunteered for the advance party
And the police are likely to find out he's dead? Didn't think they commonly checked the semi abandoned parts of the military training areas for woodchipped bodies
Good luck with the sorting and clearing, thats what I'm meant to have been doing this week but instead ended up working overtime am hoping that I can justify myself with the ebay sales, although as there have only been three of those I suspect I'll struggle to justify it even to myself (that said the removal of Mr S's abandoned stuff from the living area took most of Tuesday). It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.

I think I might love your husbandDebt £26k 18/10/140 -
i wish my hubby would make me some needles like that, but i guess i'll have to be satisfied with a case of 'short' needles from the charity shop. He obviously picked up on my coversation (NOT) about my only using Long needles and sending him back to the shop where he'd previously bought me a short pair from to get them swapped. (and it was all done in the same day so i'm starting to worry about his memory).
