  • How efficient to have the pub next door (saying that, the next village along has the same deal...most impressive!).

I would love to join you - but I'm currently up to my ears in paperwork and boxes....and I'm not sure which direction the front door is in anymore....

would you mind going through the paperwook black hole and stepping out at my end and sorting out mine for me? I could lay on a cuppa and possibly an orange crunch galaxy bar. knitting needles would be welcome as well :)
  • Fine with other people's paperwork (you had me at orange crunch galaxy bar) - I'm nerdtastic (is too a word) when it comes to organising other people's stuff...

My own, however, seems so much more scary than other people's. For example, I think that pile of bank statements over there (the one that's just made a sort of triffid sound) has just eaten my sarnie. And I've just realised that between it, and the car and house files, I've been surrounded...damn them...never saw it coming....where's that body armour when you need it....

    Remember me well....

The body armour is currently protecting its owner from the wrath of his mrs....

But I can loan it to you after I dispose of his body if you want to come help sort my paperwork mountain.
It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.

  • Is it wrong to be really chuffed that my diary has lurkers?

Stuff it, if it's wrong then I don't wanna be right *dances to the beat of her own cheese-tastic music*

Welcome to the madness, all who lurk! :hello:

Don't be afraid of the knitting (well, feel free to be afraid of the needles - I've jabbed myself quite a few times this evening, and it bloomin' hurts!!). I am a remedial knitter at best, sticking to insanely easy patterns otherwise I get very bored very quickly and am prone to yell things like "it's toooooo haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaard"...:rotfl:

My main craft is actually glass painting which, if you do it right, involves lots of tracing and very little freehand art.....;)

But more importantly to the MSE side, I'm doing a lot of this sort of thing at the moment because I find it a good way of dealing with anxiety (unless it's toooooo haaaard), and it keeps me out of the shops...and by God I was a shopper before my breakdown....which pretty much explains the original £65k unsecured debt back in '06!

Since that's not where I'm going next (well, aside from the odd diversion into Monsoon to look at the purdy, purdy clothes), I'm working my way through cupboards of random wool, twinkly stuff and felt (why does every craft stash have felt?) making prezzies and stuff really just to give myself some breathing space, and keep me out of mischief.

And for those of you who've noticed that my trusty companion is usually a bar of chocolate, then here's a moral dilemma for you - is it wrong to have bought one of those big boxes of Celebrations with trick or treaters in mind, only to be seriously considering switching all the lights off on Halloween, and eating all the bars myself??

    Nora.
  • On a total aside, I'm a little worried about Mr Scubaangel....have this image of him in fear for his life, and begging his CO for immediate deployment...

Though, if he deserves Scubaangel wrath, then can I suggest you tell the police that you were simply helping him test the body armour - and let them and the local authority sort the disposal... afterall, why make more effort than you need to? ;)
  • Morning MSE-verse

In all my prattling on yesterday, I didn't mention that the removal people popped by (anyone else wonder why visitors only ever turn up unexpected when you have a living room floor full of paperwork, yesterday's washing up in the sink, and a general air of "total slob" about the place?).

Though I'm not planning on moving out until December, I wanted to get this all organised asap in order to plan out my finances and try to avoid putting the move on the credit card. Good news is that the removal and storage rate are well within my budget - and, along with the reduction in associated house costs, brings me well below the £1500 I'll be living on from Dec onwards - phew! *wipes forehead*

Of course, knowing that I could reduce my storage fees even further by limiting what goes into the crates has me looking round the house with a beady eye, and wondering what else can be ebayed...... do I really need that large dining table and chairs which I sit at about once a month if that? What about all this clutter...why do I have so many random and spare computer, television and telephone wires? mwahahaha.... *scuttles off to find the bin bags and cardboard boxes*

Sorry - there's something about a huge sort and clear out that brings out my inner evil genius.

Off to check out what's in all the drawers and cupboards around the house....

    Nora.
  • morning you have done so well since 06. The orange crunch galaxy bar got me too do these really exist ? i must have one. Well done on planning the move. And you said something so true earlier that when people have a breakdown they come out stronger than the peron who went in ! Along those lines i also belive that only the strong have breakdowns as they are the ones who can keep going that long x I am nearly 3 yrs pot breakdown which brought about my lbm and i wouldnt change a thing well apart from the debt but i appreciate everything now. Goodluck i will be lurking..........xxx
