    Debt-free and Proud!
    Well done on the NSD Nora - and enjoy a bit of pampering from the hairdresser!

    Thanks for the eBay tip - will dig out some stuff.
  • Had a bit of a day yesterday - nothing serious, or that I'm going to go into here, but if I said "work= :wall:" I'm pretty sure that most of you can sympathise.

    I spent lots of yesterday having to find myself things to do which would take my mind off of the credit cards in the vase (why, where do you keep yours? ;) ) and my innate need to spend in order to feel better.

    But with inspiration and support from the MSE-verse (morning!) a wander in the pouring rain with a good friend and her very daft dogs, followed by stew from the freezer *bows to Shower of Roses for her inspiring cooking tales* with fresh dumplings, a warm bath and cozy pjs, I managed my first truly MSE NSD yesterday. I even drove straight by the chippy (ahhhh, chippity chips).

    And today I feel wonderful for it!

    It doesn't even matter to me that today is most certainly not a NSD - hair cut and colour in an hour...last of the qualified professional ones.... and I thought I might 'treat' myself to a loaf of bread.

    Today I've decided to gather the rest of the clothes I want to ebay - give everything an iron and have it ready for listing. I'm also going to speak nicely to ebay about raising my seller's allowance....wish me luck. Oh, and anyone thinking about selling on ebay - free listing this weekend on things with a starting price of £1.

    But I think I'll start by getting dressed - don't think the hairdresser would be too impressed with my pjs! :rotfl:

    Have a good 'un!

    Nora

    Congratulations on your NSD young lady :T
    What fantastic progress you are making, most impressive...

    Hi Knitty,

    Enjoy being pampered at the hairdresser. I having a very strong feeling that you deserve it. :)

    Well done on the NSD yesterday and battling those emotional "I must spend to make myself better" demons. :eek: I suffer from them too and have had to battle them many times since starting this journey.
    Just remember how bloomin' brilliantly you have done so far and you can pinch my new saying for my life at the moment......Small steps.....Little battles.......Win the war!!!!!

    Take care, speak to ya soon x x x x

    Hi there Knitting Nora! :wave:

    Just discovered your diary...it's a great read. And I LOVE the throw you knitted for your pal. Do you sell any of your stuff? 'Cos you really should. It's gorgeous and your giant pins would do Buffy proud right enough. :D

    Hope all's well with you today. :)

  • Ani! Good to see you over here (everyone else - if you aren't already a follower, check out ani*fan's diary...fab stuff).

    Welcome to the silly corner - where people are twinkly, and chocolate is scared! :rotfl:

    I don't sell the knitting yet, but I do sell the glass - especially around Christmas. I'm working towards a Facebook shop for both in early January (pre-occupied with making Christmas prezzies, a small craft show in December and moving house) so watch this space! Hmm, well, not this exact space because....well, I'm using that already....

    But a space, somewhere near here...:D

    Oh my goodness, just read your pink coat epiphany. Me and OH nearly did the same thing years ago but with buying a FLAT! :eek: Yes, we were going to be the kind of people who live in a pristine, minimalist environment with an immaculate and stylish kitchen in which I would create culinary wonders to amaze all my friends in my brand new life. I was planning to throw out everything I had, including my clothes which would not be the right look AT ALL for this all- new me. We put in an offer the second we got home after a 5 minute viewing. The estate agent told us it was going to a closing date and thank goodness she did cos that gave us 3 weeks to come to our senses. Actually, it took about 24 hours. But that was some powerful fantasy.

    Years later we are both more than happy in our ramshackle cottage with books everywhere, cats fur blowing like tumble weed over the laminate and a garden which will never be under control.

    Anyway, just wanted to say I know what that feeling is like and when it strikes, it really can strike hard. How great that you sold the pink coat. You're fabulous without it. :D

    Nora...how did you manage to post a picture of your throw on here? I'm trying to post a pic of my lovely new shoes but can't figure it out. There's a button to add a URL from a website but not one for a pic I've saved on my pc.

  • Following ZTD's excellent I:

    1. Set up a (free) account with photobucket (picture hosting site);
    2. Uploaded the pics I wanted to share;
    3. Copy and pasted the IMG code (look in the link box on the right of the screen) straight into the message box on here, hit submit and crossed my fingers..

    At least I think that was it...hang on while I check!
