I have 4 cats, 2 of which are black.
this is Salem, she has such a foul temper, and will scratch and hiss without a second thought!
This is Mouse, the softest cat I have ever had the pleasure to meet, meets me at the front door when I get home, comes on the bed for cuddles in the morning, and he's teaching Murphy kitten his good habits too

How sad that they are overlooked.
I've had 2 beautiful black cats over the years, there is something really elegant about a black cat.0 -
My two, Zephyr and Zanze, have about 6-7 black cat neighbours when we go to our cottage in Suffolk where black cats outnumber other colours by about 7-1:0

When I got my girl kitten (all black), my brother had got her two sisters. He had got them a few days before me, as we got them from a farmer who was hand-rearing them, their mum was semi-feral, and he had never been able to catch her to get her spayed, and he didn't want 3 more cats running around uncatchable and overpopulating the cat world. Anyway, that was an aside, my kitten had to stay on a few days as she was the little runt of the litter, and wasn't quite sure on solids. My brother's cats are beautiful, both long haired, one black with white tum and face, other is white with tabby tail, and tabby spots on her head and back. I was very excited to see my beautiful new kitten, and honestly, when I got her, she was short-haired all black, and looked kind of like a bat, I felt a pang of disappointment when I first saw her, but now, I can't imagine being without her! She is fantastic company for my beany noy (black and white) and is the most affectionate cat I have ever met, she purrs so much she dribbles, then rubs her little wet face all over mine. Feel like I'm rambling now, point is, on first reaction, other colours may just look more attractive, which is why poor little black kitties get passed over. I'd love a grey cat, they are just gorgeous, but wouldn't change my two for the world now.

I adore black cats, but unless someone knows of a kitten going Free to [strike]idiot woman who is a complete soft touch[/strike] Good Home, it's not going to happen.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll

Salem is GORGEOUS!! And i'm sure we've dicussed this before but i've got a Mouse too, except she is pure white. ,just saw you have a murphy too, had a Murphy when i was growing up but he died really young.
Finally got the link to open on main pc, wouldnt work on my ipad.
I also dont understand why they are overlooked, i've always wanted a pure black cat, i think they are beautiful. My black boy is lovely. The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0
