VJsmum, I think I'd be the same as you, really not happy about it but go along with it anyway and grinch about it online (not that I think you're grinching I night add hastily). Sometimes it's the best way to offload without causing offence to your nearest and dearest.
DH and I are absolutely exhausted today, both very achey after yesterday. I then got up early this morning and started the post decorating clean up. I have not done the kitchen but will give that a real good going over tomorrow morning after I've got some cakes into the oven. I have no cake in the house and it's depressing!
I'm almost 1/2 way through the first sleeve on my cardigan too so I'm very happy about that, I would love to be wearing it at ChristmasDebt: 16/04/2007:TOTAL DEBT [strike]£92727.75[/strike] £49395.47:eek: :eek: :eek: £43332.28 repaid 100.77% of £43000 target.MFiT T2: Debt [STRIKE]£52856.59[/STRIKE] £6316.14 £46540.45 repaid 101.17% of £46000 target.2013 Target: completely clear my [STRIKE]£6316.14[/STRIKE] £0 mortgage debt. £6316.14 100% repaid.0 -
Afternoon all.
It's a miserable old day in Portsmouth today - grey and chilly and windy.I've been fighting the urge to put up my Xmas decs - it's far too early for me, really - and finally compromised and put up my snowflake window stickers. I'm telling myself that they're winter decorations, not Christmas decorations, and therefore don't count. (Shh, don't spoil it for me!
)
lucielle - I'd be interested to know what recipe you're making with the tapenade - I love the stuff and I'd really like to have something else I could use it in.
A question I've been meaning to ask of any crafty people on here - does anyone know where you can buy small quantities of candle wick? I've got a scented candle which I bought and proved to have a faulty wick, which means it won't light. The manufacturer sent me some vouchers to replace it but, needless to say, I can't find one the same scent now. :mad: I'd like to try and replace the wick on the one I've got, rather than just throwing it away - any ideas, anyone?
Its a Barley risotto, hoping ti give it a whirl on Tuesday, probably without the tapenade as I'm not going anywhere to get any.

. I have no cake in the house and it's depressing!
That's how I feel when there's no home baking left. I feel very guilty when it runs out and I don't have anything underway to replace it.
I've always thought it was down to the fact that I grew up in a farming family where there was fresh baking everyday - it was scones on Monday, pancakes on Tuesday, tea loaf on Wednesday and so on. My great grandmother used to say that it was only a fallen woman who bought packet biscuits and cakes. (I do remember asking my mother what a fallen woman was:)). Makes me smile now as the other thing she couldn't abide was painted toe nails - that was a definite sign of a "lady of the night". Not sure what she would make of me now - I bake regularly but I also can't live without shocking pink toenails - even when they are inside wellies:D0 -
Ah scottishminnie, I lurve painted toenails
I can't wear it on my fingers because of work so always have it on my toes
. I got beetroot in my veg box last week so can make some lovely beetroot cake tomorrow too
. I'm up really late because I've been trying to finish my first sleeve on my manu. I seem to have freakishy long arms as I think I need them 22" long where she only made them 16" long. I do keep checking to make sure though. I just hope I'm not going to run out of yarn :eek:

Thanks Pink! I'll give this a go. Might even serve to the bumpkin teens and not disclose all the ingredients...
