I'm still no nearer with a contact phone number for Google Wallet. I did find a google wallet claims web site, but Mr. Lewis won't allow me to post it here as I'm new to the forum!!
You can find it by Googling "google wallet claim", then selecting "Contact us - Wallet Help - Google" from the list.
It seems to be Google Wallet's claim page. I filled in the online form yesterday, but so far have had no acknowledgement. I'll report if I have any success.

Just had a response from Google. Not very helpful, but at least I now have a contact to chase.

After reading a few reviews on the web, google shopping kept flagging this website up as being a honest seller. Was cheaper by around £10 by the next seller which did look dodgy..
Anyway, i saw the google checkout icon and thought that it google wouldnt put there name to a fraudulent company, but i forgot to order it.
Few days later, i tried ordering the perfume and couldnt as they wasnt "accepting new orders at this time" which looked alittle suss.. I guessed that they was having payment/website problems. So patiently waited a solution.
Nearly a week passed and last night i bobbed on to see if they had sorted the problem out, which they had. No google check out. But i never really too much notice to the payment. which in a very pale shade of white came up as bank transfer......
After receiving an email last night saying this is the account number etc which i have.. both sort code and acc no off.. (guessing a holdings till they get some in the account and then its transferred out of that account as soon as it hits) SO at this moment in time after sleeping on it... I have not once paid a seller by bank transfer which then got me worried and how stupid i could have been to press the button. Thankfully I now WILL NOT be paying anything to them, i have sent an email to them explaining i want to cancel the order and will not in any circumstances be paying to complete the order.
I feel abit better then some on the forum that i havent actually paid anything at all. However they do have personal details eg address and the address it was being sent too.. (girlfriends work address)
Over 10 years with buying from the internet and bar a few dodgy ebay transactions going pear shaped all is been good. I so nearly tarnished that record!
Thank you to the others folk that have spoke out about this company. Slightly too late for me not to place the order but still great full i would have been on my way to do the bank transfer as i type this out!0 -

this is the response I got back "We no

issued you a refund to the credit card used to place this order."

I'm in pretty much the same boat as the OP. Had the email advising me of despatch. Phoned up and was told that my order couldn't be fulfilled so my CC would be reimbursed. Whaddya know... it hasn't been. I'm filing a claim.*removed by forumteam - please do not advertise in signatures*0 -

placed my order 22/11/11 through Google...they took my money on 28/11/11 and I have since received NOTHING!!! I too have bought via internet for years but I must have let my guard drop as it came out as Google's recommended site. Not happy and dont expect to see my money back...but let that be my lesson. I've never had cause to join a review site in the past, but feel it necessary to warn others to avoid this company at all costs!!!0 -

Pleased to say that perseverance pays. After contacting Google Wallet a second time, I've just had the following promise of a refund.

We no longer allow Essence Store to process orders using Google Wallet.
As your account shows that you have already been charged for this order, we have issued you a refund to the credit card used to place this order.

I too almost got scammed, your rights as a consumer under the Distance Selling Regulations 2000are that you are entitled to cancel your order up to 7 days after receiving your goods. I got my credit card company involved on that basis and I got a refund from the credit card company (they in turn re-claimed the money from the Essence Store)
Incidentally there is no returns address on the website which contravenes the regulations as well.
Give it a shot and try, scam merchants like these should be closed down.0 -
My mum recently used the site and broke the cardinal rule...always check reviews before buying from a random site..had she done this then I probably wouldnt be writing on here. But hey we've all made that mistake once or twice.
She placed her order early November, was contacted a few weeks later being told her order had finally been despatched. Having contacted their 'office' in London a few times and constantly being informed it was on its way my mum left it hoping the parcel would arrive.
Well December arrived and still nothing came. She was informed it was coming from the Seychelles, then Thailand and promised it would be here by the 14th. That day arrived and she kept trying to contact them only to find their phones are no longer in use and that is that.
I am not one of those who can sit back and do nothing so straight away I was emailing them, and also came across their reviews...well I was shocked to say the least...the company is running in Bulgaria, selling fraudulent products or none at all. All I can say is please people do not buy from these people!!
I contacted Google as my mum had the common sense to pay through them and they immediately issued a refund and informed me that this company has now been removed from using Google payments.
If any of you have used google please do contact them as they are likely to refund you. Alternatively try your banks. Dont give up hope...they are being closed down but always check reviews of unknown sites.0
