Hi can someone tell me the best way to try and remove Essence-store from trading, they are an absolute scam, having terrible problems with them, saying they have sent my item when they haven't and then saying I ordered a different item than I did, it really is dreadful that they can keep on taking money from people when they have no intention of sending out the goods, this is an Eastern european company, it makes me so mad when they keep insisting I have had the goods, I am a very honest person and hate to think they are ripping me and other people off, how on earth can they keep trading under these circumstances, there reviews are awful and it has obviouly happened to many people, they really should be locked up, please any help would be much appreciated

If the reviews are awful as you put it then why did you decide to use them in the first place ?0

The review centre lets these bunch of scammers post 5 star reviews in blocks to cover up the bad reviews they get
I have e mailed the review centre numerous times They are not the least bit interested
Can not understand how they are getting away with it0 -
If they based in Eastern Europe, I suspect you have little chance of getting your money back, and no chance of having them shut down."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0

This website is based in Bulgaria so you might as well kiss your money goodbye.
I know this won't help now but, for future reference, never ever buy anything from a website which doesn't have a contact address AND phone number.
If you want to help prevent other people from falling into the same trap I suggest you get the browser add-on Web of Trust, which rates websites based on their reliability and trustworthiness, and add your own rating as I have done. If enough people give Essence-store poor marks it will show up in search engine listings for all WOT members to see.

Can you not get your money back if you paid by credit card?0

I am afraid I have to add my name to the growing list of people who have been scammed by these con artists, the Essence Store. I have been using the internet to buy goods for twelve years without a problem, until I came across these criminals. I even went through NECTAR, so with this "accreditation" and all the glowing reviews, I was perfectly confident in using them. I see they have disappeared from the Nectar site now.
Only when this has happened to you do you look deeper and find, like one of the other writers here, that they give themselves these glowing reviews, and that when you go back further either people have received NOTHING or at best, FAKE PERFUME.
Luckily I have been able to claim the money back through my credit card, but I cannot understand how these people are able to carry on "trading", it is outrageous.
If anyone does have any ideas about how we go about shutting them down, I'd be glad to hear it. I guess because they are registered in the Seychelles it makes it almost impossible.:mad:0 -
do they trade under any other names? like fragrance direct? looking at buying from them0

One thing you can do is post a negative review on the review centre web site which is the site they rely on but leave it a few days as there are 2 negative reports at the top of the page
They will shortly post a block of 5 star reviews to cover the negative reviews that are there
If you then post after that they have to do another block of 5 star reviews
Only way there seems to be to get some kind of warning out there0 -
I actually received SOMETHING from the Essence Store in the end. It is totally fake.
It took a month. I kept writing to them, and getting the same old badly-written reply saying that the perfume was on its way to me. Then suddenly, "something" arrived, postmarked "Wakefield", and in the jiffy bag was a bottle of "perfume" and no packing slip or return address.
Luckily, I have a genuine example to compare it to. First of all, the perfume is not the right smell, and the packaging is not right in the following respects: the embossed chanel logo on the base of the bottle in missing; the font is not quite the same on the list of ingredients; close inspection of the box shows that the "mirror" effect is not the same (this is Chanel Egoiste Platinum); the printing quality is not as it should be on the box; the inside of the lid is shoddy and does not have the same quality finish; the atomiser is a different size; the barcode is in a different place on the box.
I have written to Essence and await their reply, but am not expecting a satisfactory response.
I believe I am still able to claim money back from my credit card as I have not received the goods I had expected.:mad:0
