I thought the post was fine , and usually agree with you too Nikkilala! lol0

I agree, the poll is too 'black or white'. Some people have opinions that don't fall into either category so the poll is not able to be representative because there is not enough choice.
The poll is so flawed, not only the answers, but the only people who seem to know about it are those on the Tesco threads (I've just seen the end of one Tesco thread where people are being urged to go and vote).
The answer I want to give in that poll is "there should be a Tesco sub board"!!
I'm happy that people want to go and shop in Tesco, it's putting money in my pocked from my Tesco share dividend paymentsbut we don't really need a new thread for every time someone buys an item of food for 1p cheaper!!!

Artha, you have written in previous posts that you enjoy challenging views and like reasoned discussion therefore this board may well suit you:
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/forumdisplay.php?f=57
The board is called Discussion Time and their are plenty of topics to choose from, where you can post away to your hearts content without upsetting anyone;) I think that some of your posts are far too heavy for a lot of posters here:)Awaiting a new sig0 -
Thank you for that but I'm well aware of all areas on these forums where adult views and opinions are posted and I have posted and been well received on all of them both as a questioner and advisor. I cannot say that to be true of one particular thread which has shocked me so much that I do feel a need to take action. So much so that as an openly declared Tesco shareholder I am going to try and raise motions at the next shareholder meeting and also contact the CEO via the email address that is widely distributed on this site to put an end or limit certain activities. Please note that this purely as a result of some very narrow minded people who claim to be helping others but who have their own agendas. Blame them not me if things change. I have seen other people who are proposing to take similar action as a result of certain peoples lack of tolerance.
I very rarely post on this forum but I'm afraid your comments make it impossible for me to remain quiet. I'm sorry but whilst I understand that as a shareholder in Tescos you want to safeguard your own interests by highlighting to shareholders just how much money is being lost by DTD, I do feel the fact that you are justifying this by saying that you are shocked at the actions of some people on this forum a tad laudible. And to pass blame onto others when the truth is that if Tesco charged its customers correctly there would be no such thing as DTD.
Anyway back on topic - the latest events with moving grabbits I have found extremely confusing and whilst I understand not everybody will be interested in Tesco Grabbits there is the option of not reading those headlined as such. I find the argument a bit like the old one about Mary Whitehouse - if you don't like the programme, simply switch the channel...0 -

laudible = praiseworthy? I think you may mean laughable?
Please don't take my comments out of context. I was shocked by a particular thread not the forums. On the whole I have found the forums well balanced and have nothing at all to get agitated about if you have a little tolerance , patience and are prepared to take things on the chin - which I am in the interests of truth, honesty and humility.
As I posted in another related thread (which unsurprisingly nobody was prepared to comment on because it blew a hole in the active DTD justification) I have shopped at my local Tesco extra for many years. Since 2006 when I joined MSE I have been scrutinising my receipts for the massive overcharges I was expecting to benefit from. In that time my credit card records show that I have spent about £25000 and been overcharged twice for 49p and £1. I also do some shopping at Sainsburys where I have been overcharged more than this on about £4000 of shopping in 5 years. If I am a typical shopper which I think I am then statistically Tesco are not as bad as some people would make out. If they were where is the press coverage to support this?Awaiting a new sig0 -
I wanted others to voice their opinions too on the matter and within a couple of days it shows that a MAJORITY of people who use / enjoy / post great deals on the grabbits ARE very UPSET by the moving of valid threads!
Then they need to get out more - very upset by some posts being moved on an internet forum, really?0 -

How rude! We get out loads!! wake up, grabbit board, Tesco, home again, admire bargains, update everyone on grabbit board, Tesco, school run, Tesco, grabbit board, do family stuff, grabbit board, Tesco again at midnight.Internet earnings:
Swagbucks - £748
InstaGC -£73
Nielsen Mobile - £70
Mobile Trends - £19.50
iPoll - £150 -
I really can't understand the problem with all this. A grabbit is a grabbit regardless of WHERE it is from and WHAT the item is?
If they are on the grabbit board ONLY, it is a simple case of seeing at a glance the item in question and scrolling down. If they are 'moved' to other, less frequented threads, they will be missed by many.
Anyone not interested in a particular retailer/item can simply scroll down.
This seems to be turning into an 'anti-Tesco' thread, when all the poll is trying to highlight is that grabbits from all sources are being moved.
Personally I would be against a separate tesco grabbit thread. There are already separate threads for places like Home Bargains, Poundland, the Body Shop etc. I don't have time to search in all these, so probably miss out on grabbits from there, unless they are posted separately on the grabbit board - which people still tend to do anyway!
I think there was a Boots thread but something (nasty?) happened, and it was closed?
Also, if a separate Tesco thread was put in place - would new threads be opened for all the other 'regular' retailers that appear on the grabbits board too?0 -

Apologies Artha - my spelling is as bad as my typing. I actually meant illaudable now that I've used spell checker.
I have only been using MSE since July 2011 and I find that the majority are well balanced and have much preferred the politeness of this site to others, for example HUKD which I find quite critical. This has changed though within the last couple of weeks-ish where I find that forumites have moaned at other peoples efforts to alert others to money saving opportunities because they don't like that they are at a lot of the same stores. This has culminated in this weekends moving of posts to other boards which is really difficult to follow. I hope that the site can put this behind them and go back to what it once was
I also have to say my findings are exactly the opposite to you. Before this site made me think to check them I never used to check my receipts. Sainsburys is the nearest supermarket to me and since I began to check I have never been overcharged there, whereas in the past 3 months I have been overcharged 5 times in Tescos - completely innocently. Again only my opinion but I do know there are some who have found it to be the same.
I also think that press coverage is very subjective as the media tend to chase stories which will gain the most subscribers. A story every time someone is overcharged isn't newsworthy unless there is some form of large action against an organisation - for example when Tesco was fined 600 Euros recently in Ireland for 8 separate overcharges - or when they were fined £18,000 when they underfilled petrol tanks in South Wales for 9 months. Or again massive undercharges such as with chocolate oranges which made the Daily Mail. I'm sure there is press coverage for other supermarkets too.
I have to say the grabbits board never seems to have as many other supermarket glitches as Tesco though. Maybe we all just love Tesco so much we don't shop in other supermarkets0
