Thank you, I took the last Sony one. Looks brilliant. I've been looking for a new laptop for a while but didn't want to pay silly money for a decent one.0

Missed the best deals and although it is sideways of this thread - I did manage to find this site when comparing specs with some great prices http://www.medion.com/gb/electronics/cat/Special+Offers/hot_deal_5
Apologies to the thread poster - not trying to hijack post - just posting some comparable deals of brand new laptops that are bargains - I have owned a Medion before and was delighted with it, so hopefully my new one will also keep me happyFreebies you don't really need can be given to your local Hospice Charity shop so they can raise funds they desperately need. Pass on your good fortune :A0 -

Another Toshiba has come up tonight.
Seems to be a very good spec for the price:

£265.99 Used - Good
£277.39 Used - Very Good
£284.99 Used - Like New
Wow!! Thanks for this just bought one with minor cosmetic damage on the bottom and the manual missing. £274:D
Was going to hold out for a Sony but couldn't wait.0 -

For those waiting for a Sony, I ordered two when they were first posted and have one to send back. It is being collected by the courier company tomorrow (thursday). It was £242 for 'very good' - see previous posts for condition.0

Bought a Medion refurb from Argos E-bay a while ago for around £220. Great buy - no problems with the laptop at all. For those near Corby, Walsall and somewhere further north (Manchester way?) there are Argos Clearance bargain stores so you can see before you buy.0 -
HI. I was hoping for some good bargains when I saw this thread. I am not interested in a top spec lappy, cause they fall of my bed or they fall off my sofa etc when I am away for a moment.
Despite by best intentions, they break after a year or two.
I found...

Maybe not as good spec as Amazon, but a cheapo laptop or netbook just the same!
I am unsure if I should order one of them or this....

I know whatever I buy will not last because of wear and tear.
Any advice would be appreciated!0 -

1) A cheap laptop will perform far better than a cheap netbook
2) Those net browsers from TJ Hughes are just an expensive doorstop. Avoid at all costs. They run Windows CE and hence most websites will be unusable on it's browser, which you cannot change.
Don't use your laptop plugged in. It won't fall off the bed (??) or the sofa then.British Ex-pat in British Columbia!0
