I did try to cancel the first one, they said either to refuse delivery or contact them if I was not able to do that. As it happens a neighbour took the delivery for me. If they try to charge for return postage I will ring them and explain that neighbour took delivery by mistake and see what they say. I need to actually switch on the 'like new' laptop first, to check that it works before sending the other one back.
I am now starting to wonder - should I keep the one with a tiny scratch as that is probably the reason it was sent back? Maybe the 'like new' one was returned for a more sinister reason?? Decisions, decisions!!!

I want nothing to do with a company which would even consider putting my laptop into the hands of my neighbour if I am out.

I think that would be down to the delivery company rather than amazon would it not.

4 poor reviews and 20 good ones!

One of the 1 star reviews is for the DELIVERY COMPANY!

One of the 1 star reviews is for the FREE ANTIVIRUS SOFTWARE trial!

The other two are for products faults (battery and screen) - find me a laptop which doesn't have complaints about faults!!!

Don't forget the reviews are at £500 and not £250...

Given that most people only post reviews when they are disappointed, that is very good for a review on Amazon!!

Is this ACER Aspire not a bargain too? It does have an i3 processor (no the best one tho) from £255.44 to £294.00.

I wasnt refering to the reviews on Amazon, I was referring to the reviews an techie sites that say the laptop has a poor screen, poorly laid out buttons etc etc, and wether it costs £250 or £500 they will still be poor.

There are or were other laptops available for a few pounds more that were better value IMO
