You have a pm MandyLou ;) thanks hun :D

A good night last night, no leaks :D I just had to get up once when Bess was scratching at the back door. I let them both into the garden, both had a wee and Bess had a poo and then they settled straight back down, so I got straight back to sleep :j

We got up at 10am, and I rang out local motor parts shop who have the clutch cable in stock for about £13 :j :j I am going to ring Linda now and ask if I can take her out for some shopping and call in to pick it up this afternoon

It is still dry here, after forecast of rain each day, so I'm not complaining that the forecasters are wrong this time ;) Washing towels and mat today so should get them dry outside just to air inside later :j

HI all. MandyLou, as your son is a Pompey fan it looks like you could be heading-down to Weston Homes Community Stadium next season. Make a change for Pompey to play in a modern stadium !!!!.

Mr 3Dogs, nice to see you posting again. Don't leave it to long in between postings though.
Boo to the clutch cable on the van. Depending on the make, it could be anything from £10 upwards.

Had a blonde day today (quite an achievement for a browned-haired man). Got to work and reached into my bag for my access card only to discover it wasn't there. Que frantic searching of coat pockets without success. Managed to gain access to building by following another colleague in. Phoned reception to see if card had been handed-in (it hadn't). Phoned MrsP to see if it had fallen-out in the hallway, it hadn't.
Drove all the way home, searched my van (used it to get to work last Thurs/Fri as new car was having cambelt change).
Headed back to work to ask for a new card (these cards have a chip and an RFID loop for building access and digital signing of documentation, so are vital to my job) and also ask for a door access card (no chip).
As I got out of the car, I went to put my phone in my inside pocket and s0d-me, my card was in there all the while. Wasted 1.5 hours running around.

WOW well done Beanie - you see, it does work even with those S/W chips ;)

Pat, what a to-do with your access card  I know that feeling all too well, when what you are looking for turns up somewhere it should be :o:o

I rang the parts shop this morning and they had the clutch cable in stock, so I took Linda for some shopping in her car and popped in to get it. When I got back, I went outside with Alan to keep an eye on him as he quickly removed the broken clutch cable and, as it was so simple to do this, he continued and fitted the new one :D The gears slide in so easily now and no nasty grinding when putting into reverse  He did struggle getting the cable through and connected but still did the job in about an hour and a quarter which wasn't bad, and was so pleased with himself for being able to do it. He was tired afterwards so went straight to bed but was up again within an hour and was fine :j :j

He says he doesn't feel quite so useless now :p

Oh, and the District Nurse came at noon and when she removed the dressing there wasn't a mark on it, so she just put the dressing on without any seaweed gauze and will come back on Thursday to check it again. If still clean, she with remove the dressing and just check in with him every 2 weeks or so in future, just to keep an eye on him ;) So good news there :D

I will be off to bed very soon so will wish you goodnight now - sleep well friends :D

That's really good news on the healing, mine took a lot longer than that.

And well done Alan with the clutch cable, it will do him the world of good to have acomplished such an important little job. Makes you feel human again things like that.

I'm supposed to be going to fat club this morning but the cul de sac is blocked by a lorry delivering a new kitchen to a neighbour, so can't get the car out - well I've probably put some weight on anyway, better luck next week.
