That's really good news on the healing, mine took a lot longer than that.

And well done Alan with the clutch cable, it will do him the world of good to have acomplished such an important little job. Makes you feel human again things like that.

I'm supposed to be going to fat club this morning but the cul de sac is blocked by a lorry delivering a new kitchen to a neighbour, so can't get the car out - well I've probably put some weight on anyway, better luck next week.

Yes, JayJay we take it as a good sign that his body is healing that wound relatively quickly. The way I look at it, if the cancer had a hold on that abcess/wound it wouldn'y have healed by now, if ever. Don't know if that line of thinking is right, but that's how we are looking at it :D and yes, you've got it spot on, it's doing things like fixing the car that makes him feel normal .... not an invalid :D The only hangover from his work yesterday, is that his legs ache with all the kneeling and leaning over the van

It was raining really heavy this morning, then got out lovely and sunny, but it just went dark and is lashing down again :( I am just about to wake Alan up from his nap as we are nipping down to the cafe and to Tesco too, so I hope it stops by the time we go out

Before I woke Alan up I rang Cambs CC to see what was happening about the Blue Badge to be told that they are all ready to issue it but are waiting for proof of ID and residency  I told them that I had taken these into CAB Wisbech on Thursday 5th April and the lady there was sending them in. She confirmed that they had not been received but gave me a Fax no for them to be faxed over asap. I then rang CAB and spoke to Una who confirmed that she had sent them straight in ........... to Norwich CC   she apologies but said she had rang for the correct address to send them to before they went out. She now didn't have copies of the documents so I said, as we were going out later this afternoon, I would drop them in and she could fax them over, and I gave her the Fax no

So I woke Alan up, he got dressed and we went out. We called at the car boot cafe first, for a cuppa, bacon sarnie and a read of the papers, and then went into town to pop the documents in to CAB. As I parked outside, alan saw the 'closed' sign on the door and I went over to find they closed at 2.30 pm ..... and the time now was 2.45pm     Now why didn't she tell me that  It was about 1.40pm when I'd rang CAB, so, if she'd told me they were closing in less than an hour, we would have gone straight there

I didn't want to just put them through the door as they weren't in an envelope and one of the docs was Alan's birth certificate. So, I either have to take them in first thing in the morning for them opening at 9.30am, or check if I can email them to Cambs CC. Problem is my scanner recently stopped working on my printer, not linking to laptop, so I will have to see if I can unistall that and reinstall it, then scan the docs in and email them direct to Cambs CC

I am soooooooo angry and quite upset about this. Everything else can been organised and dealt with promptly, but when it comes down to the financial side of things, we have had one thing after another go wrong :( This could and should have been all dealt with weeks ago, with no worry for us. Instead, I feel like we have had to fight all the way just to keep things moving. Rant ...... Rant .... Rant :p

What a todo about the blue badge. Surely the CAB woman must have known you lived in Cambs.?

Good work with the clutch cable, guess you have a Transit or similar as a lot of foreign vans use hydraulic clutch systems.

Btw, they were talking on the radio this morning about using ultrasound to cure cancer. They said the treatment was available now and only took half an hour or so.
This was on BBC Essex on both the Ray Clarke breakfast show and on Dave Monk in the morning.
Might be worth Alan pressing his Dr. For information.

Nice to know Doctor Raymond Royal's 'rezonator' wasn't not such a mad idea after all.

Got myself a predicament. Have my old car on eBay ( finishes Friday), however, my sons key worker is after another car so wanted to look at mine. My son was supposed to talk to him about it today, but was invited out by his cousin and her fianc!, so will not be mentioning about it until tomorrow.
Meanwhile, an ebayer has enquirer about a BIN, so to get the cash early, I told him a price I would be prepared to accept in order to finish the auction early. They also want to come up tomorrow. Guess it will be first come first served.
Also got a second ebayer wanting to inspect the car prior to bidding. Have at least managed to put them off.
