Huh, and my order was cancelled .... it's not fair  :rotfl: :rotfl: Next glitch please
I got more items into the auction today, including our vinyl flooring from home, 45 packs of it, and when I got back, Alan's family had just arrived. His brother had driven Alan's younger son and his ex down and they were here for almost 3 hours and left with carrier bags of glitched Tatco items :rotfl: :rotfl: They were happy
Alan has been up all day again but is very tired now and just gone to bedMr 3Dogs 3-7-12

I am off to bed now as up early to be at the hospital about 8.15am  The district Nurse checked the drainage bag today and said the fluid looked good and they should be able to remove the drainage tubes tomorrow. I so hope so as it will be much more comfortable for Alan, as well as making it much easier with his stoma bags as currently the two bags overlap and you can't change one without the other
I've heard from Steve & Andy tonight, and they are at the hospital with Steve's Dad who has been admitted tonight due to passing bloodI've sent them our love. Hope they can sort him out quickly and get him back home, safe and well

Didn't take too long at the hospital this morning - left house at 7.30am and we were home by 10am, remembering it is 45 minutes drive each way. The consulant agreed to have the drain tubes taken out but explained about the abcess and wound, saying that it was not a normal abcess. It may be, and probably is, being fed by the cancer and may not heal, so they needed to take the tubes out, clean the hole up, pack it with seaweed gauze and put a dressing over it. The District Nurse will change the dressing and pack the wound every day and, if it doesn't heal, I will be taught how to do it myself  He did say it will need further treatment and possibly further surgery
Not the news we were expecting as thought it was a simple job of removing the drain and the wound healing up, job done, but cancer isn't like that is it? Ah well, this may influence him when he has to decide whether to have chemo after all. He is waiting to speak to the oncologist when he gets his appointment through, to hear what he has to say, before making his decision.
Postie just been and he now has an appointment for a CT chest Scan on Monday 2nd April, as mentioned by the consultant on discharge, as they just want to check if it has gone to his lungs
Lovely sunny day here today, so managed to get washing on the line to dry naturally, much better than using the tumbler .... and much much cheaper :eek:Mr 3Dogs 3-7-12

A nice sunny day cheers everyone up. My mum was discharged from hospital last Thursday. She was well chuffed with her mothers day gift. I got her a mug with a photo of their dog on it.
Was round there today painting their shed and cutting the grass.
Nice to know Alan is recovering well. Hope this carries-on and he is soon able to leave the house and go for a walk outside.Never Knowingly Understood.

We've had a quiet day here in 3Dogsland - actually had a lie-in till about 10 am after getting up to let pup have a wee at 7 am
Wasn't going to go out at all but Alan fancied fish & chips again, wanted to try some lucazade for another 'flavour' and he'd also been advised to try some Mackeson to build him up so asked me to get him some of that. So I drove into town to Asda and got a few bits of shopping including whoopsied danish pastries and breakfast croissant pack
then walked round corner to the fish shop. Really chilly after a lovely day when I got back, so I got my washing in off the line and got the house warmed up before waking him up, and dishing up tea, which was lovely and Alan had a small can of Mackies before going to bed at 7.30pm
Alan has definitely got his appetite back though can still only eat smaller portions he had 2/3 and I had 1/3 of one portion of fish & chips and he is feeling tons better. The new stoma bag is much better, being moulded more to his body, and we've not had any leaks since using it which is making him feel more secure with it
His elder son and wife are coming to visit him tomorrow and we are both looking forward to that
I know everyone has said that I am being so strong about Alan's terminal cancer but I think that the reason we are both dealing with this so well is that I talk about it with him, not push it under the carpet. We have been married for almost 31 years and understand each other well, though this has not always been the case  We are learning more about his condition as we go, and will deal with it as it comes
I have to share with you that Alan joked to me today when I was on about stocking up on something or other for him saying "well don't get too many or I won't get to use them all" and then later when we couldn't find a screwdriver to refill my ecoballs laundry balls I got my own back by saying "you see, this is the sort of thing you'll have to do, put a tool kit together for me and explain how they work". We both said we have to deal with it like this otherwise we'd both go mad
