Poor Alan
it will get easier for him, early days.
Make sure you use some of the coupons by 19 March
Well, my news, have been out tonight for dinner with a friend who is hopefully emigrating to Australia. We had a great night, a dinner we couldn't really afford, even after discounts, but hey ! neither of us go out very often without kids, and spend everything on the kids, so a blow out for us!
slight tipsy
watching the Good Wife, loving the series! cannot get enough of it!0 -
It sounds like you had a great night out Aesop and you certainly deserve it :j:j I am definitely using vouchers today - got my shop all planned
And yes, this is early for me, even now, but just had to do a bag change as had a leak - a reminder to Alan not to eat late at night now. It's the first time he's felt like any supper so had half a wrap I got reduced but, after his fish & chip tea, it was too much, so I have my washer on and having a little browse on hereMr 3Dogs 3-7-12

Hi 3dogs
It sounds like you are getting sorted with all sorts of stuff!
Well done, its quite hard to focus in the early days but its amazing how much more"capable" you become, apparantly (according to daughter, did psychology at Uni) its an inbuilt coping mechanism that kicks in when needed!
Nick not too good this week, has been badly constipated and in lots of pain (dash to hospital for me for prescibed laxatives, Boots for electric heat pad to ease his back!) so they have postponed till next week, feeling a bit better now ( Billy performing slowly!) and starting to eat so hopefully will be ok!
Means I have not been out too much and the garden is reaping the benefit!
Take care

Now why didn't I take any notice of the
second part of that quote!!???0 -
Hope Alan gets the leaks sorted soom, I remember the leaks and laundry well - doesn't happen very often now but in the early days it was regular. I had a masive infection (an ulcer about the size of an orange) just under my stoma in the first few weeks. Very painful and took about 4 months to heal fully but also left scaring which stopped the glue pad sticking properly. I have to admit that I tried the two piece one last year and couldn't get on with it at all but the main thing is to find which ever is most comfortable for Alan.
Hope you have a good shopping trip, get the best out of all those coupons
ML - hope Nick is feeling better soon, I'm lucky to have never had to deal with constipation, though I remember all the warnings ringing in my ears when I left hospital.0 -

Yes, I think that inbuilt mechanism is working - I just get on with it and it doesn't faze me in the least. Oh Dear, sorry to hear Nick's not good, hope he can 'get going' again soon and is feeling better. Alan drinks lots of water and I do try to see that he eats a balanced diet but it is difficult when he doesn't have the appetiteHope Alan gets the leaks sorted soom, I remember the leaks and laundry well - doesn't happen very often now but in the early days it was regular. Ouch, the ulcer sounds bad   I've checked the bags which arrived today now and they are the ones that fit into the crease of the stomach/waist, and have the belt so should help. Will use on him tomorrow, unless needed before then of courseAs you say, lots of designs to try to get the best ones for him, and probably need to change anyway as his stoma and body changes

  Just been talking to my Sister on the phone after she text me to say that she has gone and done it again .............. broken her wrist, right hand and she is right-handed and this is the 3rd time in 4 years ............. and there was no ice involved this time   After last time, she has been on meds for osteoporis (sp?) and they have put a plaster on but she has to go back next Thursday to check it is knitting in the right place otherwise it's an operation  again  she also hurt her back and her knee so it pretty laid up at the moment, though knowing her it won't stop her
And how did she do it this time? ................ fell in the bathroom trying to get up onto the edge of bath to put shower curtain back up after washing it   Ended up stuck between toilet and basin, yelling for her hubby who had gone outside for a smoke and didn't hear her. They had to call an ambulance to get her up as she was frightened to move in case she'd do more damageMr 3Dogs 3-7-12

I forgot to tell you something spooky .......................
Mam said to my brother that she was worried about my sister as she'd been doing some work in the house and fell and broke her wrist ................ this is before my brother knew about it ............ before my sister and B-i-L had told anyone   And she couldn't have been thinking about the last two breaks she'd had as both were from falling on ice/snow, whereas she was very specific about where my sister was and what she was doing
Oddly enough, I am now told that Mam said something similar the last time my Sis broke her wrist, but that time she'd said that she'd slipped in the street with it being icy .......... again, before she could have heard of it from anyone
Spooky? .................................................... :eek:Mr 3Dogs 3-7-12

seems your Mam has the sixth sense, 3 Dogs
something spooky happened to me today, I dropped off DS at nursery this morning, stood at bus stop on little side road, no cars, no people, just me and bus stop. I heard someone call my name...... there was no one around!
sorry to hear about your sister's wristthat is going to make life difficult for her until it is healed.
