Do you know about this facebook local thingy?
yes, I set one up for my area. Just search on facebook, your area and included wanted, for sale and see what comes up.
Do you want me to have a look at your area for you? PM me the area you live in.
anyone can post asking for something or looking for something. Then the arrangements are between the two people.0 -
3Dogs, did Kit and the boys go to see Hotel Marigold? Fancy that one myself. Told DH to try and get it for me.0

Is that automatic for everyone Mandy?
if so, 3Dogs, you will be able to apply for the Blue Badge,
http://www.bluebadgenetwork.org.uk/whatbluebadge.htm
and road tax exemption
http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Motoring/OwningAVehicle/HowToTaxYourVehicle/DG_4022121
I hope it is, as it would mean a new car which is badly neededI thought it was just automatic for the care component but am happy to be corrected.
Unfortunatly my washing machine made a big bang and now appears to be dead.Bah is all.
But as Beanie says, I thought it was just care component

Hiya!
If the "special terms" (diagnosis terminal, I hate saying that ) apply then it is both components at higher rate, blue badge is applied for from your local council and motability is available, they use the mobillity part of the DLA to pay for it. They send you all the details with the confirmation of the award.
Take care
ML'Neither a lender nor a borrower be'
Now why didn't I take any notice of the
second part of that quote!!???0 -

I really really really hope that you are right ...... not doubting you, but this would seem too good to be true to us - let's just say I am keeping my fingers crossed - you have no idea how much difference a proper reliable car would make to us right now :AMr 3Dogs 3-7-12

We were only at the hospital for an hour this morning, as the consultant decided that it would be safer to leave the drain in for another week. The drain goes into the void left from removing the abcess, tumour and over half of larger bowel so it will take a long time to heal. If they took it out now and put a dressing on, the wound could heal over with some gunk still inside and he would be very very ill again. So we go back next Tuesday at 8/8.30 am to see his 'right hand man' as he comes off night-shift and he will be able to remove the drain then. They bleeped the Stoma Nurse who came over and gave us some more supplies as we had actually run out of bags late last night
We had just got back and were sorting our selves out when the District Nurse arrived and she changed his dressings, and is going to order him a cushion for his chair to make it more comfy and avoid pressure ulcers. She offered to order us a special mattress but as we have a memory foam topper we declined, especially as they only supply single and we have a king size bed
Alan was shattered by the time we got to the hospital and was absolutely ker-nackered by the time we got home, so is in bed sleeping now. His DLA form has arrived so just waiting for Macmillan to obtain the doc's report and then arrange our meeting with her to proceed
Thanks Aesop, for the great wadge of coupons - they arrived today :A :A :T :TMr 3Dogs 3-7-12

Evening guys - another chilly day here
Alan is still very tired and is napping lots during the day, just getting up for breakfast, lunch, dinner and his evening tablets with possibly a little supper. He hasn't been eating much as little appetite but fancied fish and chips so I went into town and got him some for tea - we had a portion of cod and chips between us and we both enjoyed them
I dropped the letter from the hospital into the doctor's this morning as I realised I hadn't done it yetAnd I called into the auction, where everyone was very upset about what they'd heard
Anyway, I spoke to a friend who is going to meet me on Friday at the car boot and he will take some of the boxes of stuff the lads helped me sort into the auction for the Saturday sale and will take more in next week, so that is another thing getting done :j :j
Alan's stoma nurse Gill came this morning too and she was delighted at his progress. The trainee nurse she brought with her changed the bag and the drain bag too, and Gill talked me through it as, although I am doing this, I haven't been shown what to do. I just know from reading the booklet they gave us. Anyway, she feels a 2-piece bag will be better for him as it is concave to fit better where the stoma is and comes with loops and a belt, which takes the weight of the bag as Alan says he can feel it 'dragging' all the time. I also asked about the two sprays for removing the flanges and for cleaning skin and she is ordering them, plus 2 boxes of these new bags, which should be with us tomorrow or Fridayand then we wil see her in 2 weeks time
Also, I rang the Macmillan advisor to let her know that Alan's DLA form had arrived and that his consultant is on holiday next week so the DLA special rules form she has requested from him may take longer to come. She checked her diary and made an appointment for us to see her in Wisbech on Friday 30th March, so that is moving forward as well :j :j
I had prepared a shopping list using my couponsthanks Aesop :A and was going to go to Mr T today, but Alan says he panics when I am out and he is up and awake, so, as I'd been out twice today for 1 hour at a time, I said I'd leave shopping until tomorrow, when he is napping
Hope everyone is well. How did Nick's infusion go the other day MandyLou?Mr 3Dogs 3-7-12

Why ......do we leave cars worth thousands of pounds in the driveway and put our usele...ss junk in the garage.
Why . .....do they have drive-up ATM machines with Braille lettering
Why the sun lightens our hair, But darkens our skin ?
Why women can't put on mascara with their mouth closed?
Why don't you ever see the headline 'Psychic Wins Lottery'?
Why is 'abbreviated' such a long word?
Why is it that doctors call what they do 'practice'?
Why is lemon juice made with artificial flavor, and dishwashing liquid made with real lemons?
Why is the man who invests all your money called a broker?
Why is the time of day with the slowest traffic called rush hour?
Why isn't there mouse-flavored cat food?
Why didn't Noah swat those two mosquitoes?
Why do they sterilize the needle for lethal injections?
