You are amazing ML :A :A
My friend went through chemo, she said it wasn't fun, but she has been given the all clear, so "it was worth it".
(((((((((((Susan and Alan))))))))))))) so pleased to hear Alan has had more tubes removed, and the Drs are pleased with the progress he is making, but he is a Geordie after allthey are tough!
Yes Aesop, Geordies are [STRIKE]stubborn[/STRIKE] tough :rotfl: :rotfl:
Thanks for all that information MandyLou, very helpful :T :T
I haven't been on my laptop tonight since I posted my update as I have been sorting stuff and moving furniture in the sitting room - don't worry, just chests of drawers, tables and the like, nothing big
Had a lovely chat to Steve and Andy tonight, sorting out for when they come up here to help me sort some of the stuff in the storage units and move some furniture in the bedroom for me, to make it better for when Alan comes homMr 3Dogs 3-7-12

Evening guys - hope you are all well
I went to see Alan from 3.30pm to 6.30pm. He'd had the morphine drip removed this morning, as well as his catheter which is good progress. However, he'd been in his chair for 20 minutes and felt he'd overdone it as he was in pain and very tired when I got there. Nurse gave him some orimorph to take the edge off the pain. Alan was also quite down today, probably after coming off the morphine. Despite having the catheter out from 8 am and drinking 2 jugs of water/squash, he could have a wee, no matter how hard he tried, and he was staining himself trying, so the nurse checked with the doc and re-fitter the catheter which started to drain immediately
He doesn't feel much like eating and didn't have any of his supper, but has had small amount of his dinner and is drinking plenty fluids
He told me that the Macmillan Nurse had been to see him this morning and would start up a claim for him, and that she would be round with the doc tomorrow so I should see her then
We have been worrying over a decision which we knew was the right thing to do for practical reasons but our hearts were telling us otherwise. However, we made the decision and I called at the kennels on my way to the hospital and explained the new situation, and asked them about rehoming BillyThings are going to be tough over the next few weeks/months and Billy is going to be a problem. He is very strong and I can struggle giving the two of them one walk a day, and I can't see Alan being able to manage dog walks while undertaking chemo. Bess is smaller and less trouble so we feel able to cope with her and little pup Molly, but have to be practical and quite selfish and let Billy go to a new home. The kennels understood as we have hinted at this before and they will contact the lady who does the rehoming at their kennels, and she will get in touch with me. I didn't go into the runs today to see Billy & Bess as I would have got too upset and it would have unsettled them, though I was dying to see them
Tough decision, but we both agree that it has to be doneWe even discussed whether Bess should be rehomed too, but feel that she won't be too much trouble
Big drastic changes for us but that somes with the diagnosis

It would be too unsettling to visit Billy once he is rehomed - it is best that he has a new start with a new family, and is hopefully their only dog as that is what we think he needs
The derby match is on ESPN though isn't it? If so, he won't be able to see it. You can pay £5 per day or £25 per week for 20+ channels, web, games and radio but haven't done it yet aas hye'd probably fall asleep watching it
No, Linda has a chihuahua/yorkie cross dog called Misty. My niece has a cat. I would appreciate the vouchers though as I take food to kennels for the rehoming animals, so that would be a help :A
Yes, nearly won at weekend - almost but not quite :eek:Mr 3Dogs 3-7-12

Christ!!, started reading from p.90 so have no idea about beanies' problems, but can I just stick my oar in and say that I hope Alan's chemo works poor chap. He really has had a rough time. Give him my regards.
I was going to say as I'm on a months holiday soon, I'd pop-down to see you guys, but you now much much more on your plate.
My friend attended his brothers funeral today. He died of pancreatic cancer. Never knew he had it until a couple of weeks before he died.
One wonders how different the world would have been if Dr Raymond Royal had been able to get his 'Rezonator' approved for use in hospitals. He worked-out that you could use soundwaves to cure cancer and brain tumours. Trouble is, the pharmacos spent millions lobbying US govt to ban it.Never Knowingly Understood.
