good morning people..... although its pretty early to say the least.
Have been home just under 30 mins and all we can both say its both an honour and a pleasure to help two wonderful people that would jump at the chance to help others in need. We hope Alan's spirits are lifted when he gets home. He certainly has come on remarkably in the three days we have seen him, he even has his sense of humour firing on all cylinders once again. If we can be of any more help we are just a phone call away. At least its good that the containers are sorted and that you can concentrate on Alan and little pup, Hugs and kisses A & S xxEating sensibly to try and lose some weight0 -

And have you got all your marking and preparation work done petal?
Well, heavy rain this morning so didn't bother going down to the car boot but had a nice lie-in and then went over to see alan about 3pm to 5.30 pm. He is looking more himself every day now :j :j but still puss coming out of the drain from the abcess and, as this is something the doc said he needed to check before sending him home, I don't know if he will be home tomorrow. Also, he is still on the thick fluid drip although the flow through his bag is getting better i.e. slower. Alan is very bored and wants to get home now, but he thinks he may be kept in another day or two. Well, we will know when doc does his rounds tomorrow morning and then Alan will ring me
As well as the heavy rain, it started to snow about 4 pm  though back to just rain by 6 pm. I am having great trouble selecting the gears in the van. This started before the boys came to help, but we went over to hospital in their car for the 3 days they were here. Today, the gears needed forced in and I could only use 2nd, 4th and 5th, having to pull away in 2nd. Even worse coming home. I had forgotten to buy loo roll and been without for 3 days except for Andrex Moistand a couple of Andrex on the Go
, so pulled into Tesco garage at Wisbech and was just going into the small forecourt shop whwn I remembered that I had left my purse at home, so got back into car to go straight home ....... but the car wouldn't start. Battery flat? So I called breakdown service who were there withing half an hour. Of course the van started stright away when he asked me to try it
He checked fluid levels which were all fine, and, after trying the gears himself, decided that clutch cable about to go
He offered to put van on truck and drive me home but agreed to follow me home instead, which he did, with no problems. He has advised me to not drive van until clutch seen to, but a mate has offered to look at it for me on Tuesday, so he can hopefully fix it if it is, as Alan thinks, just an adjustment of the clutch cable that's needed. Fingers crossed
;)
When I was with Alan we discussed the dogs and he still felt that we needed to rehome both Billy and Bess, though the thought distressed him greatly. He said he'd been struggling with them lately as they pull pull and are strong, so hard work to walk. But, after a friend visited him tonight and talked to him about it, he now agrees with me that it would only be fair to get Bess home and give it a try :j :j
I also raised with him that he will soon have to decide whether to have chemo, with it's side effects, or refuse it and just get on with what time he has left. As I said, he doesn't need to decide yet, until we talk to the oncologist, but he has to start thinking about it, and he does understand the pros and cons of having the treatment i.e. quality of life. I would point out that he was more upset talking about the dogs than talking about the impending decision on whether on not to have chemo
Anyway, I am going to do a bit of furniture moving in the bedroom now, to make it easier for himMr 3Dogs 3-7-12

I am soo sorry about the van. I hope Stuart can sort it. There are lots of difficult decisions to be made... You sound so calm and matter of fact about it all. I hope Alan can stay in hospital for a while longer till they sort out the infection.
Now do you have loo roll? Remember when it snowed last time and our friend (who will remain nameless posted on facebook that they had run out? I told all my students:D:D:D:D:D:D)
Take it easy with furniture.
Have done lots of worky poos. But lots more to do over the next few weeks. I dont mind.
Am off to bedski. Goodnight petal. Big snogs. :j:j:j:j:jAiming for a minimal spend 20220 -
I have one little roll of Andrex on the Go, meant for travelling plus loads of Andrex Moist tissues, so not a problem really and will definitely get some tomorrow Kit

shame you missed millk&more offer of 36 rolls for 98p after £10 free offerall expired now of course, thanks to mse.
I can imagine Alan is fed up with hospital now. Did he hear match/see any of it today?
You can understand why he is not talking about chemo at the moment. It is a lot to take in and discuss, and he is trying to rationalise everything in his mind first, before making it real by talking about it
I feel for you guys. Just wish I could do more to help.

The thing is I have been in Mr T twice since wanting loo rolls but didn't get any because I like Nicky rolls which are 9 rolls for £2.25 or 2 packs for £4 making them £2 a pack - cheap and we both prefer them to Andrex, Velvet, cushelle, and all the other 'named' rolls. I am definitely calling into Farmfoods to get them tomorrow or Home Bargains where you can buy one pack for £2 ..... well, that does depend on transport actually
Alan hadn't heard anything about the match so I gave him a rundown and he was quite happy with the 1-1 result ...... not losing to the Toon is the main thing
I just wanted to openly plant the question over chemo in his mind so that he can think about it
Well, I have been moving furniture since 10 pm and finished at 2 pm  It entailed taking everything out of Alan's wardrobe and our 6 drawer chest, taking everything from under the bed, taking full drawers out of chest, moving the bed out of the way as much as I could, moving the empty wardrobe and then the chest of drawers frame, put the drawers back in the chest of drawers and drawers in the bottom of the wardrobe, then put his clothes back into his wardrobe, throwing some out as I went, and putting the bed into it's new position. Putting my bedside cabinet by bed and Alan's cabinet in corner out of the way as no space for it at moment. And Molly was 'helping me' all the time:eek:
I still have to move 'the pile' from one corner, empty my larger wardrobe, move that wardrobe to where 'the pile' is now, put clothes back into it, and sort through the pile, throwing some out and finding space for the rest - not a small job, but, after tonight, I know that I can do it. Mind you, I have to see what I feel like in the morning after all that hard work
Just having a whiskey (change that to 2 now) to unwind, and cool off, and then off to bed
Night Night guys :AMr 3Dogs 3-7-12
